Green Man and Van are fantastic! best moving company I have ever used and I have moved house/flat a lot! They helped me move from a seventh floor building and I didn't even have to lift a finger. Very very competitive and totally worth it. They are extremely careful when it comes to art works which I had lots of. They are definitly not your average moving company and most of my friends have used them in the past too. THey also assemble furniture (bed, shelves) and...Also our move turned out to be a lot longer than anticipated but they didn't charge any additional amount at all but stuck to their initial quote.

We moved last week and used Roberts & Dennys (based in Peckham) following a recommendation on here - they were fantastic from beginning to end - knowledgable, helpful, patient, friendly, proactive and just made everything far less stressful than it might have otherwise been - heartedly recommend!

+1 for Roberts & Dennys. We moved last week and they were simply fantastic. I'd highly recommend taking their packing option - they wrapped everything in paper and nothing was broken. Nice crew, polite, courteous and on time. The only downside was the mountains of wrapping paper now that we've unpacked - but they've already said they'll pop back once we are straight to take it all away. Reasonably priced too.

I would like to recommend Bridges Removals....very easy to work with, on time, efficient and friendly team. I will definitely use them again....very reasonably priced too. Ph 0207 640 2448. If it was possible, Steve and his team made the whole process so much more stress free.

I was recommended by friends and family Elephant Removals. I was more than happy to use this company. I received affordable quote. The team worked damn hard and managed my move very smoothly.

They were brilliant, carried out packing, dismantling and reassembling of my furniture and handled it brilliantly well.

Here's their address wwww.elephantremovals.co.uk and you can get full details from their site.

Hi,

I do understand this is an old post but I do feel that I need to spread the word about Superb Moves.

We used superbmoves (or perhaps it's .co.uk) and they were excellent. Our move wasn't easy, with a number of things needing to go into storage and then being delivered on the move day but it all went very smoothly. I'd definitely take a look at them. Highly recommended.

    • We don’t even need Victorian values. Many of theses monstrosities are made by Japanese companies but would never be sold in Japan because in Japan the dimensions of cars are strictly regulated due to their narrow street layout. I grew up in terraced streets in the 1970s, playing football and even cricket among the then relatively few parked cars. To walk through ED and see every square inch of every street taken up by a parked car and not a child playing is like a Silent Spring.
    • Word to the wise: please be careful if you’re around Dulwich Village during the school run.  While walking on the pavement down Carlton Avenue this morning c. 8.45am, I was hit from behind by a child riding a bicycle. When I raised this with his father, he (the father) behaved inappropriately. I highlight the following tactics deployed against me, so if you choose to say anything, you may come off better in any exchange than I. The father chose to make it more about how I reacted, rather than what had happened, namely that his son was riding on a pavement, seemingly without supervision, out of his father’s line of sight. The father claimed I was over-reacting, said that his son was 4-years old and didn’t do it deliberately. He didn’t ask me if I was alright. And apologised with a ‘but’: “I’m sorry if he hit your leg, but your reaction is over the top.”  He took no responsibility for his child’s action or his lack of parental supervision. As I walked away, I heard him and two other adults talking and laughing about my reaction – yes, laughing.  I don’t think he or his son learned anything useful from the incident about keeping themselves and others safe, such that it would change their behaviour. I did and share it here as to place, time, nature of incident, minimising tactics etc. as a heads-up to others. I didn’t sustain any injuries or damage to my clothing or property. Others who are older/younger, have mobility issues, walk with buggies, children, pets etc. may fare differently. Forewarned is forearmed, guys.
