Ah sorry, I missed that whole thread and the infamous spangles. Interestingly she's possibly the first to link rates of gun crime to quality of butchers.

That's a bit pirates - global warming isn't it.

I promise to try and pay more attention, but a bit snowed under at the mo :(

Oh my didn't this come around quick!

What am I talking about... A drinking opportunity can never come around quick enough :)-D

Unfortunately, I've gotta work to pay the bills for my liver transfer. So i'll have to try and make next months.

Still on for the Pubcrawl - something more "hardcore" sounds right up my street... I'll see you all from my vantage point, hanging from the pavement soon >:D<

?ay tell about it. Must be something going ?round at the moment. I woke up feeling horrible this morning; dehydrated, dodgy tummy, red eyes, lethargy, generally muckiness.

And considering the headache I have I?m pretty sure my wife hit me in the head with a hammer last night while I was sleeping.

I too don't think I will be able to make it I am laid up with bronchitis... Jaws and I really want to come so if I'm up to it we may come for an hour but I am unable to speak as I have entirely lost my voice so as much as jaws is enjoying the peace she will have to speak for me tonight if we do come!!

As a long time lurker (very rare poster) on here a feel i know you all so well and have often thought about coming along to the drinks, but for one reason or another i've never quite managed it...

This evening, however, the stars may well be aligned... Mr and Mrs JimmyD Snr are in town to look after Master and Miss JimmyD - so if i can persuade Mrs JimmyD...we may venture over!

    • Hi Sue, they were not local solicitors. Andrea’s was based in Wales and the other firms involved were large nationwide conveyancing companies (rather than conventional high street solicitors). I’m happy to advise clients and buyers privately on what I believe to be their shortcomings but I don’t think doing so in public on the forum would be appropriate, particularly as they are not locally based. My general advice would always be to steer clear of the big conveyancing companies as they are, in my experience, notoriously difficult to contact when the need arises and the case handler is often not a fully qualified solicitor and so issues have to be referred upwards to “technical teams” internally, which was part of the problem in Andrea’s chain. • A slightly vulnerable but hopeful post… Hi everyone, I’m a guy in my mid-thirties who’s recently moved back to London and East Dulwich (I previously lived here for many years before, so I know the area well). But if I’m honest, I’ve found the return a little tough. Most of my close friends have moved out of London to start families — totally understandable — but it’s left me feeling a bit adrift and not quite sure how to make new connections again. Work has taken up a huge chunk of my life in recent years, and I’ve definitely let hobbies, interests and a proper social life fall by the wayside. I feel like I went from a fun social life in my 20’s to suddenly blinking and realising things had gone a bit er…quiet. So, I’m trying to redress the balance a bit — mainly so myself and my partner don’t murder each other 😂, and just to meet some new local faces. I was wondering: is anyone else in a similar boat? And would there be any interest in starting a relaxed, low-key local social group? Could be a casual pub meet, sports, park hangouts, live comedy nights — open to ideas!  I’m happy to do the organising/admin side of things — just wanted to put it out there and see if there’s any appetite. I’ll gauge interest and take it from there.  If you’d prefer not to reply publicly, feel free to drop me a DM.  Cheers all! 👋
    • It's Inner London. You could move somewhere else?
