I went once a few years ago. There was nothing veggie on the menu and when I asked the waitress gave a look of incomprehension and suggested a couple of things which both had fish sauce in them. So I'd make sure what you've been eating is actually vegetarian if I were you! Having said this they could have changed their menu and suddenly educated themselves about what vegetarian food is since I went, but I would be very surprised if this were the case.

TQ you can't take a comment from experience from a few years ago seriously (sorry James!)

Sounds like you're hot on the active side by contacting establishments to find out what's what in advance... good for you!

Ww use Indian Mischiefs at work suits vegans very well x not meat eaters but you can order 2 takeaways to suit both x however the vegan/vegi meal from them is lush x

Indian Mischief has closed down.

Mmmm - the saying 'with friends like you' comes to mind. Anyway what is wrong with experimenting and trying different foods from time to time?

Call me a carnivorous bigot, but I've always wondered whether vegans are attention-seeking food faddists. Vegetarians I can understand. I had a vegan friend many years ago who came to stay, and it meant lots of preparation, stocking up on tofu and soya milk, which, by the way, is disgusting. She isn't vegan these days, and admits she was rather demanding.

For me, like the French, Spanish and of course Italians, food is a celebration of life. To forbid oneself one of life's greatest pleasures seems a shame, and an insult to those in the world who cannot pick and choose and go to bed hungry every night.

    • @Jenijenjen I assure you we are always polite and friendly too! Which is why the behaviour we have been receiving is so frustrating. The kids always leave her with a “Thank you have a lovely day”  Our concern is leaving the gate slightly wedged doesn’t stop the action of slamming it open and closed…still leading to damage
    • If you're talking about who I think you are, I find them more exuberant than rude and usually smiling and polite. But then, I'm usually smiling and polite to them. Can you not wedge open your gate when you're expecting them?
    • It worked. Corbyn did similar although not to the same degree. Momentum had a purge too when Corbyn got in. All his political life he opposed the EU but when it came to the crunch he publicly backed them during the referendum. I believe that was to appease the middle classes that he was appealing to. He messed up big time when wooing the middle classes at Glastonbury whilst ignoring his core working class voters up north. They also happened to be leave voters. He got starstruck and forgot about his politics. Corbynmania was thing, a movement but it was also the making of his downfall. For the many and not the few came back and slapped him right in the face.
    • Nothing to do with the tories overspending whatsoever eh! Blame the last 10/11 years of blatant mismanagement, incompetence and willful deceit on the poor bastards that were left with the fall out of a complete car crash tory government.   One PM after another falling on their sword. Open corruption and piss taking throughout covid and a legacy of huge debt and destruction yet in your view it will be labour's 4 years in power that bankrupts us in 2029.  Another one that must think people are blind and stupid.  Rejoice rejoice. It's a pity he and his fellow clowns were completely annihilated at the ballot box. I mean they were doing so well after all 🙃🙃
