Anyonoe else enjoying the tennis? Thought Murray was pretty impressive just now. His serve is in good nick - I don't think that injury is an issue at all. The Frenchie was good value (why are French tennis players all nutters BTW? Leconte being the prime example)

In the women's that Keothavong looked quite good earlier on... great serve and big forehand. I loved it yesterday when Baltacha sank to her knees and started sobbing, after winning a 1st round match - quality!!! Can't wait to see her reaction if she gets through tomorrow.

It's good as well with McEnroe and Henman in the commentary booth.... Mac constantly ribbing Tiger Tim

After Dan Maskell finished commentating on tennis matches I thought he would never be equalled.......................and then came Supermac.

Mackenroe is the best I have heard talking about the game, anywhere.

He is as good at broadcasting as he was player, and for my money, the best of any era.

I enjoy tennis, but Federer's domination has basically made me lose interest recently. He is amazing, but you just know he will win things, and Nadal will win the French open. If he, and ideally both of them get kncked out, I will be glued to it!

I know you always have a dominant player, but usually they have someone who will give them genuine competition, like the John Mcenroe to Bjorn Borg, or Andr Agassi to Pete Sampras.

You mean a forum tennis tournament? Good grief man have you lost your faculties. Look at the other threads in the lounge. Numerous forumites are happy to discus their current drinking habits and favourite tipples; the location of a top-notch curry; their favourite/worst tv adverts/programmes etc. What does this tell you? That we are not lithe, athletic sportsmen.

I used to think of myself as quite sporty and with good hand eye co-ordination but tennis quashed this belief with one net-cord after another. As Tony Hawks will tell you, tennnis requires training from an expert to show you the correct technique otherwise you look like a cow on ice - or a Moldovan footballer.

But yeah, if someone will lend us a racket, I'll play!

Sharapova's in some serious bother on no.1 court at the moment. If she wants to nip over to ED on the train I'll happily console her over a pint tonight. Maybe take her in the Vale, somewhere classy like that.

Actually for Shara I'd push the boat out and throw in a curry at Mirash.
