How much cash have the Sally army got? Did they buy/knock down all those houses or did they take advantage of a doodlebug or something?

I think that the DH station photo was taken with the snappers back to the Sally Army site.

ED Grove looks lovely. There's a flashing speed sign where that Victorian lamppost is and the shops at the bottom are now flats and a used VW garage. And what happened to the properties that lined the upper part of this road? Were they all razed to build those 60s units?

I look at these and wonder just what the world was really like then? ED Grove just looks wonderful. LIfe at that pace, instead of today's frantic running about, must have been better for the sould and mind?

Unless you were in the ruling classes or very rich, it was quite a struggle; the 1901 census shows three families, eight people in all, crammed into our 3-bed ED home, before it had a loo or a bathroom.

Where was DH station exactly? Dulwich Hamlet station? Where would that be now?

Does that mean the negative is the wrong way round? In my view that bridge is the one with the pub on it and the Sally Army building is up on the right.

The Salvation Army building is on the left out of the shot. The picture is taken from the eastern end of platform 3 looking west.
