Does anyone know of a universal sling cover? I'm finding it a pain to pile layers of clothes on my baby for a short walk around the block. It would we great if there were some kind of fleecy thing I could fit over the sling instead of layers of clothes. Waterproof would be a bonus. Obviously I could use a blanket but its not draft proof and slips off.

I loved this one:

You can cover the baby when you carry on the front as well as the back. You can wear it as waterproof jacket, fleece warmer or together as a winter jacket. We both loved it! Pm me if you need more info ;)

If you have an Ergo, there's a fleecy outer layer as well as a rain cover that you can buy. We have both if you'd like to see if it works with your sling? I think there's something similar for the Baby Bjorn as well. Otherwise, I've been coveting a raincape from www.ottolondon.com to keep us both dry on the outside...but not sweltering underneathe!
Thanks everyone! I am really hoping to wear my own existing coat but just pop something cosy over the top of the baby sling. The bjorn one mentioned above would be perfect but it fastens at the top on two little hooks that my sling doesn't have.

Bloomchen mentioned MaM but I couldn't find it on Amazon. However, Snowboarder, that site you recommended also has the MaM which looks like what I am after. Thanks everyone!

I made my own, perhaps you have seen me wandering around ed with lo on my back, it's a blue m&s fleece which I cut a slit across the back and down and inserted two triangle pieces to give extra room for n, does just the job and actually I found I don't need a waterproof thing as I have hands for brolly... Stop me if you see me to take a look, it really was very easy!

Can we have a pic please?!

  • 2 months later...
I just bought a little lamb babywearing fleece which is not bad. It is suitable for front or back carries. It has an extra roomy bit for the baby and slit to poke their head out of. It's not the most glamorous item of clothing but I really feel the cold so I need to know I'll be warm... I also use my maternity coat which is a swing style coat and does up around both of us with an extra button I added (my LO is 1 so not tiny anymore!)

    • The solicitor is also the Executor. Big mistake, but my Aunt was very old, and this was the Covid years and shortly after so impossible to intervene and get a couple of close relatives to do this.  She had no children so this is the nephews and nieces. He is a single practitioner, and most at his age would have long since retired - there is a question over his competence Two letters have already gone essentially complaining - batted off and 'amusingly' one put the blame on us. There are five on our side, all speaking to each other, and ideally would work as a single point of contact.  But he has said that this is not allowed - we've all given approval to act on each others behalf. There are five on her late husband's side, who have not engaged with us despite the suggestion to work as a team, There is one other, who get's the lion's share, the typicical 'friend', but we are long since challenging the will. I would like to put another complaint together that he has not used modern collective communication (I expect that he is incapable) which had seriously delayed the execution of the will.   I know many in their 80s very adept with smart phones so that is not an ageist comment. The house has deteriorated very badly, with cold, damp and a serious leak.  PM me if you want to see the dreadful condition that it is now in. I would also question why if the five of us are happy to work together why all of us need to confirm in writing.
    • Isn’t a five yearly electricity safety certificate one of the things the landlord must give for a legal tenancy?
    • Very sorry to hear this, but surely the landlord is responsible for fixing the electrics?  Surely they must be insured for things like this? I hope you get it all sorted out quickly.
