Where to buy a Nativity set for little ones

Hi all,

I am keen to get a nice (not plastic) Nativity set for the kids this year. When I was little setting the Nativity scene and decorating the tree were big traditions on the house and I would like to start that too. I have been looking for something nice but haven't had much luck so I wondered if anyone here had any tips.

The Sue Ryder shop in Forest Hill is selling them, and not very expensive. Wooden ones.

Great Little Trading (GLTC) online company have some really nice wooden ones

and Willow on North Cross Rd have some great advent calendars - 3D, really beautiful designs

There are lots for sale at very reasonable prices at St Thomas More church (next to Dulwich Library), on the left as you enter. Available at the end of each church service on Sunday.

I bought the most beautiful hand knitted set last year for appox ?25 (a steal, considering the work involved) and I could see if she is still doing them this year?

I have a pattern for all knitted nativity people, angels and animals - from 1970's I think. It's great and we love ours.

They are selling a basic wooden set at Tiger (lewisham centre) for ?3. (Has Joseph, Mary, crib with Jesus, and two farm animal.

I bought this one a couple of years ago - nativity and advent calendar in one. It avoids having to do chocolate advent calendars or think up lots of little bits to put in the do-it-yourself ones.
