Dulwich Born And Bred
I don't really think its a surprise with the chefs outside in their work clothes puffing away on their cigarettes , or the chefs walking to Iceland's in their uniforms to buy food for the restaurants , or the dirty trolley transporting meat across the road from an unmarked white van .No thanks . simonethebeaver
Not really. I'm fairly relaxed about stuff, but drinking directly from cans that rats and mice in warehouse may have run over, with their leaky little bladders, is a bit grim. Dulwich Born And Bred
It's not verging on OCD at all . Its facts . Running water over dirty cans is no big issue . I have a child , I can hardly be OCD wiping dirty bottoms but if I can eliminate food poisoning , I will . mynamehere
I don't don't know exactly how these ratings change from 1 to 5. I imagine I can handle 3-5 but 1 and 2? What's the point of having hygiene ratings if we poo poo them? I saw the TV series a bit back. 1 and 2 are gross out bad. Thank you Government for setting parameters. simonethebeaver
I've no idea how many people I know who have got ill from drinking contaminated cans. Who knows how many mysterious tummy bugs have been down to drinking rat pee? DulwichFox
There have been cases of serious bouts of actual Food Poisoning in some very prestigious restaurants. ie. 240 people became ill at the Fat Duck in Bray. (Not a hygiene problem) 3 years ago. In 33 years living in East Dulwich, not heard of anyone actually been 'Poisoned' in any local restaurant. Might be the odd case of , how can I put it... Dodgy Tum. (polite) Anyone who eats any form of Street Food is unlikely to worry too much about Hygiene levels in local restaurants. You are more likely to poison yourself at home through your own poor hygiene or through eating poorly stored food or reheated food such as rice. James Barber
Try searching for SE22 schools hygiene ratings:http://ratings.food.gov.uk/authority-search/en-GB/%5E/se22/desc_rating/7845/528/%5E/1/1/10Langbourne School doesnt do well with 2 stars 21/05/13(improvement necessary )Kingsdale School 3 stars 14/10/11 (generally satisfactory)And I have heard of people being poisoned it just didnt make the newspaper. Local Authorities don't undertake inspections for the fun of it! It took a huge expose I worked on with Southwark News.We still have 2 x 2 stars and 6 x 3 stars schools in Southwark which isnt acceptable but huge progress.
