No PeckhamRose. Stella (unfortunately) is commonly known as wifebeater.

It's sad what's happening at the CPT. All the lovely bar staff that I got to know over the last year or so have left and I have to agree with you Madworld74 the beer is very limited indeed. Could do with some more real ales. How about some guest beers please. They do a nice pint of Guinness though but that's not really the point is it? And I absolutely hate the new wallpaper. Urrgh!

By the way MW74 as someone who has complained in the past about the lack decent wines in the CPT. What do you think of the new wine list?

I have already been down to Lucky 7's at The Gowlett, but the CPT is pretty much on my doorstep. Not that I'm lazy you hear!

I'm not actually a beer drinker per se, but enjoy a cold something when the heat's up.

Went into The Uplands for a laugh though, to see what beers they had on offer. Walked straight back out. Blokes in there were wearing 'I'm a spousal beater' tee shirts. Yikes.

The type of beer that would be appreciated is the sort of stuff that Inside 72 used to sell in bottles. Not that it has anything to do with ED, so please don't all shout me down, but I went to The Clissold Arms in Fortis Green (North London!!) yesterday (incidently where The Kinks played their very first gig), and they had a truly amazing array of beers on tap.

Sigh.

SteveT youre a man after my own heart! A man that says alcohol is 'wholesome'....sigh again.....if only all blokes had your forward thinking outlook the world would be a much happier, drunken place.

Bit paranoid aren't you or is your ego so large that my post had to be referring only to yours?

I am aware that lager is referred to as beer but wanted to know the accurate definition. I'll use a dictionary next time.

    • Perhaps Gooseygreeny was not familiar with the wildlife before Gala was imposed on the park, since when its value to wildlife has deteriorated. The Park had never been disturbed before, as the council had respected it as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, so only the Common was licensed by them as a site for events. The first time Gala held their event, there was a tree with woodpeckers nesting in it right in the middle of the main field they used and thrushes, blackbirds and great tits nesting within the shrubs and trees immediately surrounding the field. The woodpeckers were thriving on ants from the anthills in the grass. To those of us who used to enjoy watching the wildlife, it was very obviously a Site of Importance for a variety of birds. Despite being accessed by the public and their dogs, it had been relatively undisturbed,  which was one of the main reasons why it was so special and why I have been opposed to the Gala festival being held during the bird nesting season.
    • So dangerous!    Can you be more specific about the road this was in and when you report it?  Maybe there’s some CCTV footage available
    • Hi - I’m looking for bean bags, cushions, toys and games for our play therapist who works weekly with some of our children. Any donations like board games, cuddly toys, dolls houses, action figures, dolls, puppets, easel etc would be very welcome. For Rushey Green Primary School
    • Disgusted by the people letting off fireworks so close to the petrol station by goose green!  Putting everyone else in serious danger! You'd think it was common sense to not have massive sparks so close to petrol. It is antisocial behaviour and I will call the police on individuals that do this for everyone's safety (including their own).
