The last face-lift the pub was given, so far as I know, was done by Chris and Antonia, who did wonders with a big bare space and had plans to do more.

They were also responsible for changing the name to The Cherry Tree, following a lot of engagement on this forum. And for bringing in an excellent chef, who the owners treated in the same despicable way as they treated the managers.

Ah. I was going to ask why they went back to being the Cherry Tree from the Hamlet Inn. I had moved away during that time.

Yes, I remember the grand opening. All looked very promising but sadly short lived.

Ryan is long gone.lol. I have also heard that gary has been beaten up by regulars about 3 times recently. I am also told new managers are in and turning the venue into a gay bar, but the same landlord etc still there. Lol.

Actually you are (probably) quite wrong!

Annie has been posting on the forum for a number of years and judging by her other posts has nothing to do with the Cherry Tree.

It's always a bit bleak in there. And the DJ nights are v bizarre.

Perhaps I'm being unfair, as I'm almost certainly not the target audience.

When I've been there on the DJ nights it's a little bit like a badly attended primary school disco, but with less atmosphere. Maybe I've just had bad luck?!

Had a great night in the Cherry Tree last friday night,the place was absolutely

packed.The new manager seems very pleasant, perhaps people that use the Dulwich

Forum should give it a try instead of listening to tittle tattle.
