We had colin round this morning to put up new fencing in our front and back gardens and hang a couple of shelves. He came round really fast after we initially contacted him, gave us a really good quote and was very flexible about when he could come to do the work. He was here yesterday and today and did an excellent job, as well as being super-friendly and polite throughout. We'll definitely use him again and I would happily recommend him to anyone.

I had Colin round last week and he was honestly fantastic.

He came round when I wanted and completed the jobs I wanted doing. (I had previously been let down a few times - not by anyone on this forum). But Colin was more than happy to come to the rescue with my small jobs and completed them all within an hour to a very high standard.

The jobs were:-

- Putting up a rail over my bath

- Fixing a toilet roll holder

- Putting some hooks up for some net curtains to be attached too

- Fixing a nail in the wall for a picture to attach too.

I will most defiantly be using Colin again.

His Mobile number is 07754691541

Many Thanks Colin!

I used Colin (07754691541) last week to paint the inside my apartment, the iron fence at the front, install a new light fitting, and repair damage to a kitchen worktop. I am very happy with the results.

As others have mentioned on this forum Colin is a gent, is flexible on timing, provides fair quotes, and is trustworthy. I will use him again in the future.

Comment by carterjennifer00 above sounds like a deliberate attempt to ruin Colin's good reputation - as a result I'd say to beware any recommendations she has left. And shame on you - this is someones livelihood that you are playing with.

The whole point of these feedback forums is to put your experiences on here, good and bad. He gave me a really bad service and I'm being called a lier for being honest! If you want to start a I love Colin page then go ahead, all I am saying is he wasn't good to me. So really its shame on you! You look rather stupid for those comments in my eyes.

I have used Colin on two occasions : in Oct 2014 to paint our lounge and second reception room and in March/April of this year to paint a feature wall in the nursery, 'Annie Sloan' a chest of drawers and 2 x bedside tables, repair and paint garden fences and walls, build and paint a new fence in the front garden, patio the front, paint all exterior masonry, build and paint a bin shed and put up a new porch light.

My husband and I were both really pleased with all the work that was carried out. Colin's prices were reasonable, the work was carried out and completed within the timeframes that we agreed and I felt in particular that Colin was really patient with me as the client (I changed my mind twice about the colour of the fence paint causing additional work and re-work for Colin .. sorry about that!).

Based on our experiences above I would be more than happy to recommend Colin and those who worked with him for the specialist work (e.g. plastering).

Another thumbs up for Colin. We have used him numerous times over the years for painting and smaller odd jobs. We have always been extremely happy with his work and his prices are very reasonable. He's always gone out of his way to complete jobs quickly and he's never let us down. Couldn't recommend him more highly!

I used Collin for the first time yesterday and couldn't be more pleased. He came to look at the many small jobs I had when he said he would, and spent about half an hour here patiently listing them all and answering my questions. He had a calm, can do approach to everything and arranged to come back in two days. He came when he said he would and worked really hard , and at a good pace throughout, over five hours. All were small jobs like fixing broken cupboards, dismantling furniture, hanging pictures, putting up shelves. He worked really hard the whole time and didn't mind at all when I added more jobs I hadn't mentioned or changed my mind about things as he was working. He was a really nice bloke. I am thrilled to have all these jobs done, and at a very reasonable rate. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again and recommend him highly. Thank you Collin!

Colin is an absolute Godsend... over many years now he has done a number of jobs for me, both large and small. His decorating skills are great, but he has also done more straightforward things such as putting up curtain poles and fixing brickwork. He is a local friendly chap and his charges are reasonable. Thanks Colin!

Recently had Colin complete various painting/tiling/carpentry/plastering jobs around the house. His work was excellent (especially the tiling) and i found him to be a very trustworthy/hardworking and nice bloke whose prices are very reasonable. Would highly recommend for all the handyman jobs you never get around to getting done!

We've used Colin for years now, and he's just done another great job for us (photo attached). He knocked through a wall between our bedroom and study, decorated the bedroom, and hung the curtain poles and mirror. He's a lovely, reliable, and trustworthy guy and I wholeheartedly recommend him. We love our new bedroom Colin - thanks very much!!

I also wanted to post a glowing recommendation for Colin who assembled our son's new bunk bed on Saturday. I found him during a handyman search on the EDF and felt that the recommendations for his services seemed the most consistent. I can see why. This is a genuine job for Colin (rather something he juggles with other things) so he prioritises his clients. We found him to be efficient, cheerful and professional. He's coming back next week to hang some pictures for us.

I can highly recommend Colin Deery for handyman work. I found his number on this forum and he re-felted my shed room, tiled an area in front of my fire and fitted some alcove shelves. The quality of workmanship is excellent and Colin just cracks on with it and thus completed the work in very good time. He's a really nice bloke too!

Found Colin via this forum. We are new to the area and so have lots of odd jobs and decorating to do in our house.

Working with Colin was a pleasure, as not only does he do a good job, but if he has to do a couple of extra things in addition to the original quote, he does them without quibble. Tradesmen I've worked with before can refuse to paint an extra corner of a room or bang an extra couple of nails in if it wasn't what they agreed to in the first place.

Very flexible, personable guy. He painted our lounge walls, ceiling and skirting boards and put up a couple of shelves for us.

The lovely Colin has just finished a small job for me .Came round at short notice and figured out a way to do something that had defeated other lesser mortals .

I've not found all the recommendations on this forum live up to the hype - but Colin does .Great guy .

    • Just shows, to me, once proud to be a citizen of UK.. now.. well if we pay/contribute to services - nhs, police, fire etc and folk who have made this there home - no matter what creed or culture.. for the love c of God, can someone  please explain to me.. how we have working royals who like them or not, have tried and continue to actually support and make a change and then we have Andrew.. who just destroys everything.. not just him, or royalty but his own children..  I had great admiration for The Queen - and respect.. as have a huge number of people.. but.. these old traditions where gosh.. live rent free and can’t get chucked out until I believe 2070? From what I scanned..well he has and continues to have it all.. has to go thru what old rules? Etc.  doubt very much he has even kept the upkeep maintenance up on his abode.. and do the shite keeps on pulling up.. What has Andrew done for UK or for that matter since he was 20?? Do please tell me       Totally off topic, before anyone jumps down my throat.. I just do not get how anyone is proud to be British at this point in time. Whoever is in power, seems to be able to help themselves to the public purse with no redress at all - Covid is a great example of lining of pockets.. Millions  given to Rowanda, so one is led to believe, to help with refugee problem and one can’t get a plane load off!  I simply do not get it at all. Use of food banks in UK growing yearly, homeless as well, nhs, police, fire service etc all on their knees..
    • Have applied the green roof at a number of properties and no issues you are concerned about detected. Have issues with cats defecating in the vicinity, however, they are not selecting the green roof specifically. Use decent compost, slow release fertiliser specific for green roofs, and lay it methodically not leaving blank patches. It looks amazing when cared for and adds value.
    • Some suggestions for mandatory action might include:- 1. Permit retailers to display facial images on the premises  of previous offenders at their local store. 2. Sound an alert and display images on screens inside the store when the FR flags up a person entering who is on the national database of shoplifters. 3. Physically bar recognised shoplifters from the premises. Should they attempt to force entry then charges should be pressed under aggravated trespass, which  a criminal offence under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. 4. Change the law to allow retailers to have enhanced powers of citizens arrest. What would you suggest? The UK seems to have the most lenient policy towards shoplifting , probably because of other demands on the police force. On the plus side, they may have more time for it now that non-crime hate incidents will no longer be investigated. Other countries, such as the USA have much more sever punishment as does Singapore where repeat offenders or aggravated cases can be sentenced to up to 3 years in prison, a fine, or both.
