Having read Ted Max's* brilliant little vignettes AND seeing the responses to same, I would like to inaugurate the

FOTM - Forumite of The Month

award...

and nominate Ted

(of course, if it follows football's Manager of teh Month award he will have a shocker of a November

For future awards maybe we could have some rules ? Nominees to be forwarded in the last week of a calendar month and the winner announced early the following month?

* maybe it's already been discussed but only by typing his name have I realised where he lives - doh!

I think the above nominees are indeed worthy, but have to say that Ted's narrative on the CPT thread has me hooked and he should be the inaurgural Forumite Of The Month.

I've also just fallen in about Ted's whereabouts after seeing Sean M's post again.

I'd always thought of TM as a very big fan of rock 'n' roll, in fact I shall continue to do so.

"yawn" as in the very concept?

"yawn" as in Ted Max's pieces are boring?

"yawn" as in you have gone to the trouble of not making any clear point on a thread that doesn't interest you?

Disagree by all means but try and make it clear what excatly it is yuo are disagreeing with and why. Just so we can bore you less next time if nothing else

yeah I did think of that as well - but then I figured I have no idea who you are from Adam so how could it be so...? I'm going entirely on your posts.

If some people want to think it's an exclusive club I have long lost the will to go around correcting them - some people believe what they want to believe

Maybe the idea is destined for the bin...but for now...

In which case, purely in the interests of inclusiveness, I'll move my vote to Scorpion who after 20 odd posts in the wanted section/song game, not so much dips her toes in the water but jumps in shouting GERONIMOOOOOO, in the new cooking thread.

Hats off, and a thoroughly readable post it was too.

I say the award stands and is granted on the seventh of each month.

As for the possible accusations of cronyism, lets not give a fig about it.

Do you think the the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences frets abouit people wondering if they're a bit too matey for their own good?

Does the Booker Prize committee worry whether the great unwashed make slighting remarks about the their long lists and short lists?

Do you think George Clooney lies awake worrying when it's hinted that some of his films might just be a bit of a jolly-up for him and his 'buddies'?

The answer to all of the above is, do they buggery.

If someone even hints there might be some some sort of elitist shennanigans going on, on the EDF, tell him quietly and firmly to go shit in his hat.

    • I’m not sure how many other people have experienced this; but both me and one of my friends have the same story. Around Crawthew Grove and Crystal Palace Road: I was followed by a large fox right on my heel. At first I didn’t notice because I had my headphones on, but then I noticed my shadow had an extra lump in it, funnily enough, it was a fox, very very close to my feet. Even if I sped up walking it just tried to get closer - it was quite frightening actually, it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me. I didn’t know what to do so, I started to reprimand the fox and walked slowly away from it, facing it - which it didn’t seem to like and backed off a bit. I then proceeded to speed-walk away.   Quite frankly, the whole situation was quite embarrassing and a little bit frightful as I’d never had a fox even come up to me. I’ve heard of particularly curious foxes that might come up to someone who beckons them, and maybe even bite that person, but I’ve never heard of a fox chasing someone. The amount of confidence that it had was incredible.    When it happened, I was on the way to see some friends, and once I had told one of them, she told me the same thing happened to her.  if anyone else knows anything about this bitey fox then let me know!
    • Another recommendation for Andy. I needed an old kitchen removed as an emergency. Andy came over quickly and did a fantastic job. I have used Andy a few times. He is punctual, helpful and always does an  excellent job.
