Just to clear it up DM, it's 'B', but I do have a Greek cousin, perhaps that's who you might be thinking of?

As for the pronunciation, I think both your interpretations have charm and I'd answer to either, which are different of course to the one that I intended.

And thanks to yourself, JL and SteveT for the kind words.

I'm currently standing here blushing, twisting my hands behind my back and fixing my gaze on my shoes. All the while telling you that I'm not worth it.

It was how I was taught to take compliments by the priests.

I'm going with Hoipolloi for the shoe in the recycling bin.

I genuinely spat tea over my monitor when I read that, to many a bemused look from my colleagues, which all gave rise to a most entertaining thread (D_C the tea came out of my nose to your festival inferno post).

Hope she's coping with the Type 2 fear today.

Thanks JL, it's good of you and if I had hair I'd be blushing to my roots at your kind words.

Sean, thanks for that, about da wimmin but there's a surefire cure fer dat, one room, me, dem and foive minets. Dey'll be runnin' screamin' into de noight. Fer sure. Whoiy wouldn't dey?

Hoipolloi created great fun, I don't think it's always the better for being a true, but in this instance it was.

But I'm going with *Bob*. I was unaware of the 'tea' thread before it got lounged as I hardly stray outside ED Goss and Lounge sections, a great ruse and deftly and hliariously teased on.

I can relate many stories about events of the time some very amusing some not so would be very happy to share if there is any interest  . .
