Ah, the heart Eek..! Is nice.

Nah, at school I tended to dump the nice guys for the bad guys, always more exciting and eventful, but then I was also a pretentious pain in the arse and had "oh for a life of sensations rather than of thoughts" above my bed. I THINK I've grown out of that now

"but I think the English language is a rich and glorious and wonderful thing, and it pains me to see it abused." doesn't sound like the work of a woman who doesn't prize thinking... although I have sneaking sympathy with Teen Rosie too.

Oh, Rosie that made me smile, teen annaj would have loved teen Rosie...

Or maybe hated her, in a jealous rivalry way, because we'd have been just too similar, except that I wasn't really popular with the boys, good or bad.

I was such an awful, pretentious teenager it still makes me cringe to think about it.

Like Moos, there is a forumite whose posts always gives me a bit of a lift, but not really in a crushy way.

Boringly, I don't think I have any forum crushes... Sorry

Oh Moos, I was not fishing. Seriously, I don't know what I'd have been as a teen. I certainly had my share of "bad boy" habits, particularly between 14-16, but then I never bunked off school or anything like that.

Basically I was too shy to flirt, and usually ended up being great pals, and "like a brother" to the girls. Grrrr!!!!!!!!

The bit I find tricky is the forumites whose names hide their gender - hence you might like what you read but dare not be tempted into crushes on the poster for fear of them being from the same side...sometimes the poster makes their gender clear later but some I just can't read - hence any crushes are reserved for those with clearly female names...obvioulsy those who have been to forum drinks have a clear advantage having seen these unclear posters in the flesh, I should try to get along to the next one, but then I like the mystery of not having yet put the names to faces.. to me you are all supermodels.

But Mick Mac, surely crushes aren't always directly related to our sexuality or sexual leanings. In fact as a teenager I would say I had quite a few crushes on girls - as in gazing from afar with admiration - yearning to just be them, rather than be with them. It's more about some people just having a flicker of a spark about them that ignites something indescribable within you.

Moos / Annaj- I think like you, a lot of people have a crush on Woofmarkthedog, but that is simply puppy love as I understand it....

... but give him a biscuit and he may let you scratch behind his ears.

I'm sure you'll find that most boys, let alone Men, do not gaze from near or afar at other Males.

In fact I'm certsin of it.

Having said that I did have a 14-year-old "liking" for Andy Bradbury who was very pretty and stood out in our All-Boys School and was overjoyed when his Parents bought a Caravan near ours in Seasalter, Kent for use during the holidays.;-)

    • Been with The Gardens now for around 30 years and very rarely do I have a problem. I went in to collect a form and mentioned that my leg was hurting and hot- was seen immediately by the Practice nurse who then arranged an appointment on the Saturday with the Extra care service at TJ Centre where I saw a doctor, who then sent me off to Kings for further tests.. I recently booked a flu jab but appointment is in 2 weeks.
    • Have used Milk and More for years. When the price went up we cancelled a couple of pints but we still have 8 pints a week. If we are expecting family etc we buy from Sainsburys to top up. We kept on with M & M as if weather bad we could order extra stuff from them to save us a trip to Sainsburys Local. Also gives employment to our milkman.
    • Hi there, Our Lexus NX300H, (reg RF18BWO) was stolen off our driveway last night, Monday 27th October. It was there at 9pm, and had gone by 7am. If anyone has any footage on their doorbell or Ring, that would be super helpful. We have asked some neighbours and reported to the police etc.  Most upsettingly, there was a box of old family videos in the car boot, in an old Sainsburys box (photo attached). If anyone sees these dumped at the side of the road, please contact me asap! They are priceless videos that my deceased grandparents took. Thank you for any info, Jojo
    • Another shout out for Milk & More - their app allows you to alter the order, add or subtract to it and also to schedule holiday stops without having to leave messages in bottle - so more secure. You do have to set up a direct debit with them, but I haven't had any problems with that myself. I have had one or two missed or late deliveries in several years, but not really a problem - only very occasional and caused mainly by delivery-person illness. And very much feels like an old-fashioned milk delivery. They do special seasonal offers as well. More expensive than the cheapest of the super market milk prices, but for that its at your door, fresh and no bother.
