Yeah, and no one wants golfers hanging around.

This is the thing, right, I'd say a good two thirds of the people here consider themselves to be middle class

(am not one of them and proud of it!) and most of them hate the idea/existence of it :)) which should give you some indication towards the responses so far. As if all the pubs around here haven't been ruined enough as it is!

I hear the CPT isn't too bad.

As you can see, we all make a special effort for a new chap. Welcome aboard, and some sort of ol' rot.

Next time yer in The Lodge, give that saucy filly Maisie a sound slap on her rump, and tell 'er to give you a double of what y' fancy on my slate.

Say the Major sent ya.

The Lodge may be a club in Notting Hill, but surely its Masonic implications are far more sinister? I think we're going to see the dashing chaps around town of ED going around trousered with their trouser legs rolled up.

Serge_A_Storms, welcome to the Forum - as you can see, it's a friendly place! You've just stumbled across two particularly typical characteristics of regular posters - the irresistable urge to be irreverent, and a deep suspicion of new things. Being proud of not being middle class is also very typical of the EDF, although mathematically suspicious, as SKS observed.

When the Lodge closes in 2014 because of the "October 2013 Did They Or Didn't They Bar Manager And Cook Scandal" we'll all be moaning like mad that we loved it and why did it have to go. It's just far, far too new right now to be any good.

    • Why would mice move? It’s not so much they move as multiply and spread    copy and paste rather than cut and paste  mice can and should be dealt with.  But not easily or with guarantees  i would say most people in se22 reading this have mice. Whether they know it or not
    • Hi Victoria  Are you still looking for a bed? I have an antique,  queen size bed with head and footboard that you can have for free. There is also a deep, sprung mattress in good condition,  also free. If you are interested,  I can send some photos  Let me know.  Kind regards  Nettie

    • If a food outlet has a mouse problem then it's likely to stay there until the outlet runs out of food, unless it's adjacent to other food outlets. Why would the mice move? And mice can be dealt with. If you are prepared to pay for it. Which, with some proprieters, is a very big if. I have no evidence that the problem has reoccured in its new inception, although obviously good owners keep the focus on good hygiene. You win the battle but the war continues.
