stevie_son
I'm making a list of restaurants in my local area. Would like suggestions for any that I've missed (there seems to be new places popping up everyday).Has anyone been to the new place on Bellenden Road (I forget the name)? I also noticed a new place on Kirkdale (161 I think) that looks interesting.Feel free to suggest stuff or add to the list and vote herehttp://www.gridde.com/list/view/5348064108d1d2020003e168
Jeremy
Yeah Artusi on Bellenden Rd is pretty good (only had their lunch menu tho). Crooked Well seems like an obvious omission.
stevie_son
I'll have to check it out, although it's probably been rammed since rayner reviewed it.
edcam
Good list Stevie! It does need The Crooked Well, Angels & Gypsies and The Camberwell Arms.
stevie_son
Angels & gypsies! How could I forget them. Pricey, but there croquettes are pure crack.
Help-Ma-Boab
Palmerston is shown as the EDT. I'd have The Patch on the list. Has its knockers i know, but i enjoyed my visit.
stevie_son
Great, actually popped into the patch on Sat but only for a drink. Anyone feel free to add stuff yourself if you can be arsed!
Zebedee Tring
McDonalds in Brixton is great. Even better than KFC opposite, although their chicken buckets are to die for - probably literally.
stevie_son
I probably should add a morleys, doesn't get more south London then that...

stevie_son
Great suggestions. Been a while since I've visited Babur but I remember it being great
annabel42
161 Kirkdale is a very newly opened wine bar in Sydenham, and is proving very popular. I understand there is a connection with TOASTed. Wine and beer only, no spirits, at present. Excellent cheeses. Friendly and knowledgeable owner and staff. Perhaps on the small side having regard to its popularity. MissDumpling
French House - new to Lordship Lane. Dishing up Alsace delights.
annabel42
Si Mangia in Forest Hill Road; Trattoria Raffaele in Sydenham.
Sue
Nice to see Ghurka's Flavour included - where we go whenever they have a Time Out offer!
MissWiggy
Great idea and really useful. .I'd also second the French House - new I know and with a more limited offering than some but I really like the food and atmosphere. Reasonable prices too.How about adding in Blue Brick Caf? - I love their food.
Growlybear
I'd add Numidie in Crystal Palace to the list. I think the Lemon Tree in Sydenham or Eastern Cuisine in Gypsy Hill are by far the best Indian restaurants in the area - far better than the hugely over-rated and over priced Babur. stevie_son
Great suggestions again, updated the list. Totally forgot about Blue Brick, we get their breakfasts quite regularly. Looks like my waistband is going to be expanding in the coming months...
snooks
Teapot in Forest Hill is good for a lunch as they do all the 'old fashioned type simple'foods and the portions are always large
El Pibe
Is gridde your idea stevie_son? Simple and vaguely purposeless, whilst being a bit OCD. I like it!!
stevie_son
Ha ha, yes it is. Still early in development and in need of many tweaks. Interested to see where it could go with enough input. Spread the word (or not, I hate self promotion, lol)
