D-M that was kind of sneaky, BUT - if you want to "know" DM Messrs Batdog and Karter, you had better pull out your collective digits out and attend the next Forum drinkie - which Mockney-P dragooned me into organising.

Talking of which - as it will be in the early Summer - anybody know somewhere with a beer garden? There is always the Fox-on-the-Hill, that isnt ED, BUT it does have a huge beer garden and cheap beer and if you stay outside you dont notice the sticky carpet or the smell of chips.

Before that, there was much talk of informal drinks, and to that end I will be PMing and texting upon my return from Estonia.

Dulwichmum,

you should be a spymum at this rate. Capuccino?( a clue but not for this thread?)>:D<

Seanmac

thank pal for filling me in, for some reason I imagined the lady in the foto to be Dm :))

Mike,

Will be at next meet or even better at the fair on goose green, I cant really not go to that fair as will be involved in a way. ;-)

The Dog in the Village has a big back yard bit as well

But then even the Plough has a decent size outdoor bit - not that im suggesting it of course

If we are more interested in outdoors how about grabbing a slot on the Rye - we could pop across to the Clock House if we want a pub atmos, or get some pizzas from Pizza Pan, some tinnies, a frisbee and football and hit the grass

I was going to suggest the Clock House, but yes, this is a great idea.

Sorry I couldn't be there on Friday, but Mr L dragged me away to the count-ry-side. We kicked off Saturday morning cycling through a ford At Land's End in Berkshire, where I promptly fell over in a foot of water, and was nearly engulfed by the freezing waters of the river...whichever. It was cold! My hair band was washed away, but my Prada sunglasses were not snapped, thank goodness.

Mr L offered to cycle back home to fetch the jag and pick me up, sodden clothes and all. But I refused the kind offer, and we instead cycled back with river in our cycling shoes, made a rapid clothes change, and spent the day walking instead.

I shall not be attempting to cycle across further fast-flowing river fords in the near future. But I shall be coming along to the next EDF meet-up, as I hope will Mr L.

    • I was sitting on the park bench yesterday opposite north Dulwich station and found an Apple Watch hanging off the corner. I have brought it home and charged it hoping that someone might use ‘find my’ to locate it. Equally happy to be contacted this way to return it to the rightful lender / they just need to say what colour/kind of strap it has. If you can think of a better way to return it / find its owner then please advise. And/or feel free to share on other local fora.
    • How many are there in your racist category?
    • Precisely DR it’s entirely understandable to conclude one is so disillusioned by Labour for Tories, it must be time for someone else  That  is an entirely reasonable position But if the next step is to then transfer your vote to a party full of charlatans, snake oil salespeople and racists? Then  you stop being reasonable and start being thick and/or racist i understood why Tories took power in 2010. I feared it was an error but I wasn’t castigating people who voted for them tories (then, not now) and Labour are hamstrung not by civil service or EU but by a weird media and a weird voting system in an age of social media.  The answers don’t seem to be coming from them yet but voting reform will only damage the country internationally and internally  the Tories may yet regain power but are currently led by a madwoman, with a madman positioning himself to take over. Will take years for them to sort themselves out labour are making errors all over the shop but are at least in the ballpark of sane governanc.  In no way should this give them a free pass but in 2025 there genuinely isn’t anyone better  (and current polling for reform is meaningless - in any general election be it 4 years or 4 months their lack of accountability and standards will become all too clear)

Or a rather thick old trunk, covered in leaf growth?  Look at the damage caused to the end and right hand railings.  NewWave, any chance  of loading your neighbour's photo here?   Or anyone else with some good focused photos, from various viewpoints if possible?
