Anywhere with good enough music to give it atmosphere but not so loud I can't hear myself think would get my vote.

CPT high on my list, and not just because I am a lazy wotsit who would like the idea of only rolling one block down the road to the pub (though that could be part of it!)

Ages ago in the early days of forum drinks this was discussed, but never organised.

Perhaps either the June, July or August drinks could be done at The Clockhouse on a Saturday instead of Friday, then we could have games (kickabout / rounders) and picnic on the Rye, and the pub is just opposite for pints in the sunshine. Would be nice for those with kids to be able to pop down in the afternoon if they can never get out to evening drinks. And whilst typing that last sentence, I have realised that that group may well include me, so I am pushing for this even more now!

Other option would be The Dog or The Plough, which are close to Dulwich Park, but The Clockhouse actually overlooks The Rye, and I think it could be a lovely day. We can even have acoustic guitars out and get all hippy!

Any thoughts?

(before anyone suggests organising it seperately to the drinks, people have tried doing the picnic thing, and it hasn't really worked. Think it needs to be organised well in advance as a proper EDF summer meet... Matbe even involving a BBQ...)

Sounds like fun. Do we have to run down there from the Plough again like the last time we got drunk at the Clockhouse?

I think the bbq idea is a non-starter though as they don't let you set fire to Peckham Rye. It may be for the best though as you guys would probably just get it wrong.

    • The Palmerston is open for meals on Christmas Day. I imagine The Cherry Tree will be again. We had a truly terrible meal there on Christmas Day last year which cost us £100 each without drinks, so I wouldn't recommend you book there 😭
    • Wow..has this forum gone down the pan..  Admin??  Two topics which do not make any sense at all.. Survey Horniman and asking for fireworks..       Sorry for fireworks - did not read clearly - my mistake wanted tickets..

    • That’s interesting, Dulwich Dweller; my 70 yr old neighbour told me 2 weeks ago that he’d left work early to go and book in person (being uncomfortable with all the online & app stuff) and was explicitly told that he needed to go away and book online. He’s not the sort of person to be insistent and, like a lot of older people, a bit embarrassed at his lack of digital ability, so he left without the appointment . This is my point about inconsistency, since his experience was quite different from yours. I’m beginning think that it rather depends on who, at Reception, you speak to on day…
