That might be because if anyone dares to criticise them on social media they threaten them with legal action (or at least they threaten the website on which the criticism appears). I've never visited Le Chandelier but would not do so now as a matter of principle, because IMHO if a caf?/restaurant can't stand the heat, they should stay out of the kitchen.

It seemed to be closed last Saturday?

We've tried three times to try it out, and every time it has been closed!!

Don't know the opening times. But we went in for lunch on Sunday. It's a pretty small menu (breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, scotch eggs/sausage rolls, and of course cakes) but food was quite good. Interior feels rather unfinished, but I guess that's not surprising.

It's the place next to blue tit barbers (with black paint) then ?

I thought it was going where the Acorn estate agent is for some reason :)

Nope, it's a couple of doors down from there (towards the rye)

The one with black paint next to Blue Tit is going to be some sort of sh!sha lounge (yes, sh!sha really is a banned word on here..)

Funny how Peckham does not have a Curry House. (Apart From Ganapati)

which isn't really a Curry House in the usual sense.

Used to have two on Peckham Rd. One of which was where I had my first Curry. A Chicken Ceylon. (1970)ish

Still see the guy in E.D. from time to time. Think he is now retired.

It was called The Indo Pak restaurant and was opposite Sumner rd. next to the Odeon.

I think the owner rent to Curry Cabin and then to what is now Veer Zara

Celon was a very hot curry on par with Phal or the very hot Tindaloo (Yes with a 'T' )

I used to meet a group of guys there late Sunday night and we use to compete for the hottest curry.

and how many green chillies we could eat. :)

Hi all,

we opened last week. i'm not sure i'm allowed to post menu on here as it may be seen as advertising (?).

anyway, do pop in for a chat. we are open 8am-5pm monday to friday and 9am on the weekends.

we haven't quite finished the decorating but are tweaking all the time!

give me a shout if you want the socail media feeds - not sure they are allowed either?

    • Silly comment.  Read the attachment.  Or go to i-player and watch Winterwatch: https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/documentaries/winterwatch-jack-baddams-protect-birds-comment/ Our gardens are not natural, many of the birds that use them are dependent on us.  Most of us feed the birds, including myself, do it for our own pleasure rather than in a belief that we are reversing the damage done to nature by humans over recent centuries.
    • Thanks @Sue I had no idea what they delivered. Personally I just dont get why anyone living in London would bother with something like this, We can all pop down the road and buy bread, pastries etc and know what we're getting.. Just seems a bit of a yuppie fad and waste of money. But thats just my opinion!
    • How to you grow these? I've scattered meadow flower seeds many a time, but thistles don't take and I doubt if alder and birch is common round here.  Teasels pop up now and then, but even if they are self seeding usually don't see them the next year.  It was nice seeing the gold finches feeding off these when I do have them.  I do let the dandelions grow but not sure I've seen finches feeding off them.  I understand they are a great source of nectar for bees, butterflies and the like. On a related subject my lawns have changed greatly over the last couple of decades, warmer wetter winters, springs, earlier springs, droughts in the summer.  Moss and brambles thrive....
    • Sadly true though. I've just replenished my (clean)  feeders and put out suet blocks and logs. Now I'm waiting for the pigeons and squirrels to descend 🤣
