I ran a half marathon this morning, came back and cooked lunch for my wife and daughter and then went to the pub to watch. I am afraid Wembley was out of my reach today but 'm not much of a fan. ;-) Jah was there.

Speaking of which, wtf was all that Fan-o-meter thing all about? Which fans were making the most noise in the ground and then flashing it up on screen and on the advertising hoardings. Bloody ridiculous.

Lots of good teams left in the CL. Up until a few weeks ago I'd have said Barcelona were head and shoulders above everyone else but now it could be anyone from Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern, Barca and United that wins the CL title. The most crucial part of who will reach the Final will once again be who is drawn at Home for the 2nd leg of the Semi finals.

FA Cup will go to Arsenal, Man U or Chelsea, although Everton might have a say in the SF with their dirty ball tactics.

Bah! Bloody Man Utd....Not the best Cup final I've been to that's for sure. Aaron Lennon is the dogs bollocks. On current form he's gotta get back into the England squad. He's been fantastic all season. As for David Bentley...what Atila said. Wenger soon sussed him out and shipped out.

Drowned my sorrows with a girlfriend and left my flag in Franklin..Bah!

Did you watch that game last night? I started to but had the footy on all afternoon and had things to do, so only watched the first 5-10 mins. Saw the highlights on SSN this morning and I'm gutted that I missed it. Would liket to see Atletico do well.

What ever you do LG do not defect, I have always said being a true fan is about accepting defeat as well as triumph and I should know because I support Palace! most of the kids I grew up with defected to Liverpool in the 80's and later to ManU, those glory hunting swines!.....

Couldn't agree more, very sound advice. A true fan sticks with the club through thick and thin regardless of good fortune, and through times of dire football (as was the case with Arsenal in the 80's).

The last time I went to the Hawthorns we lost 2-1 and guess who scored one of their goals? Bloody Kanu!!!

Of course I would never defect! You have to have the bad times to appreciate the good!

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
    • Signed, and I will share it elsewhere, thank you for posting this. It's got nearly 70,000 signatures at present, and apparently runs till February.
