In fairness to Owen, a player I've always had a great deal of time for, I'm not sure his departure from Pool is as straight forward as suggested by Matthew123. For what it's worth I'd have him on a pay as you play basis, I think he's still got something to offer.

I can't remember for sure but didn't Owen not feel very loved when he left Liverpool was doing a lot of bench sitting and then had a chance to go to Madrid?..hindsights wonderful but I think his decision to go at the time looked a reasonably sensible one.
