Just saw Strawbs post as to location in the Bishop. It's all happening on LL. We came into the bishop, it was rammed full of people so had a quick coffee at the front with a friend. We noticed several people *looking* around. I had a chat with a fellow forumite looking for you guys. Then we left and fire engines started turning up on LL. A smell of burning in the air, then the firmen made their way to the Thai restaurant. Alot of action on LL, cafe's are packed and Somerfield too. What a day.
We might be doing it all again tomorrow - I have had an email from work telling people (who did make it in) that the Met Office predicts another 5-10 cm of snow this evening and that they should go home - so guess what, the Bishop could be busy again tomorrow......

had an absolutely wicked time but because it was so ridiculously full i didnt hear my phone and had about 7 messages and 3 missed calls.. sorry gigirl my bag was under the table and i didnt hear my phone... thank god for hannah who got there at 12.30 and got a table otherwise we would have been stuffed! i have never seen it so busy.. left and went via the general store for ice cream adn then via the pizza shop and got some food... Im still making my way through it all..

thanks to everyone who came.. i think if thee is a snow day tomorrow i will be indoors with a movie and a cup of tea!! oh and left over pizza... xxx

Morning everyone,

How delicate are you all feeling today?

I looked at the snow this morning and dutifully shut the curtains and am gonna pretend it's not there. My liver will be very grateful. Mister VBC had to get me a kebab and put me to bed - yeah!!! Classy Classy Classy.

I do have to say it was great to meet everyone, Brum, Hannah (hope you both got back without fallin over), Hibbs, Strawbs, Brenden and the fleeting appearances of everyone else.

Darn it. I do wish I was out on Friday with you all and the rest of the rabble.

Only popped in for a couple of pints as I'm not really a big fan of the Bishop , and it really was heaving in there but when I saw Brendan outside smoking a tab on my way past and then the lovely Strawbs who gave me a big hug I felt a sudden lure of the Guinness and very nice it was too.

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
