I read an interview with/comment from a gentlemen who owns (the freeholds?) of Anatolia and Si Mangia somewhere recently. Possibly Living South, possibly the SE22 Magazine*? The article said Anatolia would be reopening and he would be opening a third restaurant on the street later this year. I guess this may be it? No clue as to what it would be - he said he was actively looking for a business to open up a restaurant there.

*In my defence, I was sitting waiting for a doctor's appointment and there wasn't much else to read.

Yes of course, organic as well, how could I miss that out.

The shop was an off-licence for years before becoming the world's worst bathroom center.

Hello everyone

Its true, the Anatolia on forest hill road, is opening with a completly different feel. It will be better and more delicious than ever. but we need your help. We would welcome any suggestions on this forum about things you would like to see at the restaurant. we are planning to open in the next few months. Any suggestions????

Thanks

The Anatolia team

Hmm... Anatolia. So that would be a Turkish place then?

Personally I wouldn't go out of my way to eat Turkish food, it's the kind of place I would go to because it was cheap and convenient. It just doesn't excite me.

Now a decent steak house or a French restaurant... that would be a different matter.

On another thread re turkish restaurant on Lordship Lane, I believe there was a call for lahmacun and pide? Apologies if spelt incorrectly!

Jeremy - I supose british food is just boiled beef and suet?

Get out of your closed mind man! Turkish food can be a wonderfrul combination of fresh fragrant herbs and salads with tender infused meats grilled or stewed - think of a combination of greek mezze and arabic food. The pide mentioned above are a revelation.

Good on you anatolia - we need achange from thai and indian.

    • There's quite a difference between going for a run around the footpaths and trying to sit quietly for an afternoon in a wide, grassy area and enjoying the peace & nature. The other two grassy areas in the park are used for sports, and both had barriered trackway running through them. The Parkrun had to be cancelled for at least three weeks, iirc. I'm concerned by your continued reference to "the rye" - the event is held in the park, not on the rye (common). There is a big difference, despite the organisers and council artificially amalgamating the whole area when trying to convince everyone that it's only a small area that is closed off. The railings & gates enclosing the park are a big clue...
    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.
    • I thought I noticed the shop being redecorated the other day when I passed. Also the old Romeo Jones had some works going on, I think
    • Leon came to sort out a lighting issue for us last week.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave clear, detailed advice about how to avoid in future.  Would highly recommend him.
