Are we talking Goose Green end? If so, probably yes.

You're not referring to the sleazes who access the laptops of ladies using their "free wifi" are you? But there are more than one of them on Lordship Lane. I did not realise that if you are using the cafe/bar's wifi you can then be on their local network and they can then access your laptop. Silly really.

If you go to one of the wifi places you should turn off file and printer sharing and enable the firewall if you use windows. and if your wifi at home is on a unique workgroup other than the default ones. noone can connect to your machine.

It's easy when you know how.......

Hi red devil and Mickecg, unfortunately Asset's right, and the 'allegedly' isn't defence. Only 'fair comment' and legal proof are defences. Neither are applicable in this situation, and it's highly defamatory.

I don't think you guys were regulars when the Forum had its last run in with libel, and it gets very messy very quickly.

May I volunteer that you could go back and edit your posts to avoid any mention of anything that could identify the chap? Even cryptic identification is a no-no. If you can tell who he is by any means, then we all go down.

    • This might be a better picture.
    • I don't think anyone would object to the examples you have given being given space in the noticeboard (Theatre Peckham is a registered charity) and I think reflect the original intentions behind their introduction. I would not like to see advertisements for purely commercial enterprises e.g yoga studios, cafes, tradesmen which would not be in keeping with the original purpose.
    • Multiple complaints and reports of the leak but no barrier as of 4.30pm today. Shockingly bad form especially as they had TW engineers on site across the road this morning. Fix one, another bursts. Lots of residents without water in this hot weather, just terrible...
    • I agree... perhaps you could also write to our local councillors to point these things out. Never know they might actually reply! Thanks for your help speaking to Monica. She may hopefully have useful contacts re obtaining a key. Completely agree - what's on (which could include some small businesses  such as Theatre Peckham, which I think may be a charity or at least community not for profit? And school fairs type thing..) plus anything the community would find useful, such as free events for the elderly (LinkAge are active in ED and surrounding areas) and lots more.
