StraferJack. I was referring to everyone talking about it, previously I was just dismissed as being a troll. Now everyone feels they can also talk about cliques in this new forum democracy which has broken out from somewhere.

The reason I didn't previously attend drinks you know about because we private messaged about my circumstances. Also, as I've pointed out before, my fear is I would be cornered by a clique at a drinks event and made to justify myself.

On the subject of Sue, the thread I was thinking about was in reference to paranormal events I think. I'd be interested if Sue could join in here and clarify if how I perceived reactions to her posts at the time, were taken to heart by her or whether it was just forum banter. Sometimes the line between banter and clique is a fine one.

Louisa.

afaik bad blood carried into any sort of meet has been extrememly rare. i can only think of one occassion.

And noone dismisses you as a troll Louisa, you're everybody's favourite troll*

I had a glass of vino waiting for you at my leaving do. I sobbed into it at the end of the night. Then necked it. A spaniard's tears are surprisingly fruity!!

Foxy made it though :-D

*alright, part time wind up merchant and class warrior ;)

When you say EVERYONE you mean there are now a few people talking about it, just as there was on those other threads

There have been several invites to drinks, not just the one you refer to

As for

?, as I've pointed out before, my fear is I would be cornered by a clique at a drinks event and made to justify myself.?

EVERYone who went to a drinks for the first time had t face ?the fear?. That?s partly what made them fun. What are these people like in real life? Oh no now I?ve met them, does that mean I?m in a clique?

I?ll have a look at that paranormal thread again in the cold light of day and see if the bullying accusation stands up

ha, the paranormal thread, I'll save you the hassle?!?!?!

- there are ghosts

- ooh really can i have evidence?

- you're stupid, stop being rude, if you need evidence you'll never be able to experience the paranormal

- riggggght, convenient. do you have any evidence

That's a bit harsh, just had a quick swizz, it's actually very funny for a while

Cheers Atticus, I know we've not always agreed on everything so genuinely grateful to read that.

I moved to ED after the forum had really got going, but I have met at various drinks sessions (including one the day after I moved here) most of the people who I think some might consider to be part of a clique. I have to say I've had nothing but positive experiences with all of them - all very friendly and part of what made me choose to settle here.

I've been here over six years now and all my friends in the area I have met as a result of the forum and I can't imagine my life here without it, even though I am not that frequent a poster.

Having posted on other forums in the past, I have to say the behavior here is pretty tame by comparison. There will always be in jokes that newbies don't get - but isn't that always going to be true if you become friendly with a group of people who have known each other for years? It's not designed to make people feel excluded, it's just a fact of life.

What are you talking about Otta? So you now think I am two other people as well - that's now makes four people I am supposed to be? What kind of sad person do you take me for? Oh wait, you actually don't know anything about me, apart from me being a vegetarian bloke with two kids (because that's all I've revealed about myself on here). Anyone else get subjected to this nonsense?

    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
