Local Computer Repair Man

I highly recommend Paul from PAW ON THE BUTTON for any Mac or PC repair work. I had a severe problem just before Christmas when my Mac desktop decided to die on me - I specifically wanted someone local and not some big corporation - I looked on the East Dulwich Forum for a local chap and found him. I was initially a little cautious as Paul wanted to take my Mac away and work on it as it needed complex attention. He allayed any fears by being in regular contact with me while he had my computer & he consistently let me know the state of play. Needless to say that he fixed the problem and even delivered my Mac back to me.(Additionally he corrected something in my itunes which had been bugging me and he didn't even charge me any extra) Given the severity of the fault I thought the cost was very reasonable. He is also an easy guy to deal with, very polite and efficient. His mobile number is: 07595 679 275

Hi,

I would just like agree with the above thread, was going to write much the same thing. My pc crashed which had expired the John Lewis guarantee, they were quoting a lot of money to try and repair. I found Paul's details here and he promptly visited, took away my computer and repaired. He also provided a backup hard drive.

He was great to deal with, explained things clearly as I am not a technical person and was reasonably priced.

I would definitely recommend him.

Just to add to the thread above.

I have just had my IMac repaired and Paul has been absolutely amazing. He has fixed my dead IMac for a very reasonable price, he was very clear on the pricing and delivery time. The whole process was easy, friendly but most importantly extremely professional.

Highly recommended.

Also to add to the thread...

Highly recommend Paul. My MacBook was dead, and as it was deemed 'vintage' by Apple (i.e. old!) they would not repair it. Neither would other Apple retailers. Paul was a total lifesaver and I cannot thank him enough, he managed to resurrect the seemingly broken computer for a very reasonable price. I'd be buying a new laptop if it wasn't for him!

A huge recommendation for Paul. We managed to delete our entire iPhoto library and emptied the trash can (don't ask...five years' worth of pictures of our children and no back up...). Paul managed to recover the data from the hard drive (a specialist data recovery job that was beyond most other computer specialists we spoke to) and went beyond the call of duty to sort them all out by month and year so we weren't left with a huge mess (all 20,000 of them!). He also replaced and upgraded the hard drive after spotting it was starting to fail. And all this for a very reasonable price. Oh, and he picked up and dropped off the computer too! Very pleased!!

I had my MacBook Pro motherboard die after a power surge (plugged the cable in to the wall socket while still attached to my computer). Anyways - Paul made it to my house within a couple of hours, got all my files off it so I could continue working, and within a few days he'd repaired the motherboard on my Mac and cleaned up my machine too.

Paul was great, aside from honest good work with the repairs, I appreciated he came to my house and was friendly with my kids who wanted to watch on...

Will definitely be calling Paul if I have any computer issues in the future.

Thanks!

Clare

Paul just left, having gone the extra mile to help us when the CD drive on a macbook pro refused to spit out a CD. We'd tried everything and nothing worked, but he sorted it AND helped with some data transfer.

His number is now in my phone - I hope I don't have to contact him too soon, but he's definitely a good go-to guy for mac problems. He does PCs also.

And he didn't ask for a recommendation, I'm just making it because I want him to continue to do good business.

A real find - thanks EDF.

I wanted to give another recommendation for Paul from Pawsonthebutton ? I thought my laptop was history after the keyboard was badly bashed while it was in operation. Paul came to the rescue, I think he can be characterised as an IT angel. He responded immediately to my contacting him one evening, came the next day, diagnosed what needed to be done, explained clearly my options and his pricing is very reasonable and straightforward. He took my laptop away and returned it a couple of days later in a BETTER state than it had been before the problem. If I have any further IT problems he would be my absolute go to person.

I would also like to add my recommendation for Paul. I found his details on this thread when our mac laptop broke and called him. He was able to come to the house quite promptly, diagnosed the issue and after taking it away for a couple of days he returned it in a better state than it was before it broke. His pricing is very reasonable, I will certainly be calling him if ever we have a mac or pc problem again. Very glad I checked the forum for recommendations and found him!
Just another recommendation for Paul. I found his details via EDF and called him up with a webcam that I just could not get working. Within 24 hours he had fixed it and given me some useful advice on virus protection etc. He was also very patient with me as I got more and more frustrated with my laptop! Very reasonable price too.
Definitely recommend Pawsonthebutton for PC problem solutions. Paul quickly diagnosed an operating system issue and has given our PC a new lease of life at very reasonable cost. He is very pleasant to deal with, clearly explaining various options and is genuinely keen to help.

    • I never said that. Saying I don’t like some of the rhetoric coming from the left doesn’t mean I approve of Farage et al saying that Afghans being brought here to protect their lives and thank them for their service means there is an incalculable threat to women.    Anything to score a cheap point. It’s pretty pathetic.
    • To be fair we are as hosed as the majority of other countries post-Covid. The problem is Labour promised way too much and leant in on the we need change and we will deliver it and it was clear to anyone with a modicum of sense that no change was going to happen quickly and actually taking the reigns may have been a massive poison- chalice. As Labour are finding to their cost - there are no easy answers.  A wealth tax seems straightforward but look how Labour have U-turned on elements of non-dom - why? Because the super rich started leaving the country in their droves and whilst we all may want them to pay more tax they already pay a big chunk already and the government saw there was a problem.
    • You don’t think there are right-wing politicians fanning this with rhetoric? Really?
    • No party is willing to tackle the "elephant in the room" which is the national debt. It is costing the country circa £100 Billion ANNUALLY to service that debt. That is more than the defence and education budgets. That debt burden has to be reduced which in reality means cost cuts. That means cutting back state pensions, index-linked pensions for civil servants and others such as police, NHS etc. It means cutting back on universal credit and cutting the number of people who are claiming benefits.
