Sean yesterday you said I made a nice comment, I apologise for being out of character. However I did mean it, I love the east Dulwich forum and as a fozzy hill resident have been made to feel welcome but do want to know what I like most? YOU ALL MAKE ME LAUGH! I challenge any of you to correct me when I ask how many time your boss has shat on you at work and you come home to a letterbox full of bills and the forum banter hasn't put a smile back on your face. All my friends think I'm sad to use an area forum and should use Facebook more often but you know what? They're welcome to it because some of the material I've come across from the regular forum characters people would pay hard cash for (Ted Max your parody of the Antiques road show had me in stitches) and we get it all for free. So basically keep posting and a big thanks.

P.s All the above was genuine and not an attempt of toadying my way out of the whole 'Alangate' Fiasco.

You wouldn't be the first person to come in all guns blazing only to end up becoming a resident yourself BBW

What you describe is pretty much how I usually feel since I came across the EDF (imagine a time when the only local online banter came from lordshiplane.co.uk uk's TALK section or the chat bit on upmystreet - oy vey!)

Of late (and I've mentioned this to a few people on here) - say the last couple of weeks, that has diminished somewhat as a whole bunch of crazy peeps came in , trying to find their feet and generally making the place feel like a school playground (in the bad way, not the good way)

but then again, the latter half of this week has seen that noise abating and the general banter pick up again - exemplified by your OP above. Warms teh cockles of my heart it does

Oh - and I've been out in Fizzy Hill a couple of times this week too - should I keep an eye out next time I'm on Bar Question?

Interesting - all I can say is WHAT POST - BBW not only are you in need of seeing that shrink again, but you now imagine you are making posts too.....

No wonder BBW you do push the boundaries, however it does appeal to my sense of humour but their are others who are offended by it, also it's easy to forget kids could be watching. I do agree with Sean that things did get a little crazy, but it can't and I can't be serious all of the time.

that wasn't a telling off BBW ! that was an explanation...

if you want to see a (public) telling off you could do worse than search for the words... no I'll leave that one be actually

The forum terms of use are there for everyone to read and it's not a question of whether kids read the site or not. It's not even the case of whether "people" found it offensive. It might have more to do with having some consideration for the OP who is, given the circumstances, unlikely to see the funny side

Now having said all that I'm trying to think of something funny.....

.....

nope

maybe later

Ha ha Honaloochie that was good I'll give you that one. Don't worry quids I'm still an arsehole. Basically my missus gave me a tongue lashing for what I wrote so I have to show both sides of the coin today but once she fcuks off to language class's I'll get back to being a c&nt.

    • Now a good curry…yummy… beats slaving over a hot stove, endless potatoes for roasties plus carrots and parsnip peeling..  Christmas pudding made with cream or brandy sauce. when one things about it, obscene the amount of food one consumes on the big day… and then the washing up…. Used to cook for 10 so do know what I am talking about…grant you, nice to have company and friendship but now reached the age when I am quite happy having a curry, wandering around in my PH’s all day and eating, watching, doing what I want when I want.. Think actually that Gail’s staff can’t say no not working… sacked I would think but equally catering for people who might be in Dulwich for the holidays and visiting and in an air b n b..  Put of interest, is this the only Gail’s opening? Or are they all opening? Plenty of other places open on the day… sure cafes in city are open…And of course, always MacDonalds..!!!
    • When I managed a large staff group, and workers were needed for Christmas day, there was always a queue of people wanting a shift, for many reasons.  Where is the problem-why is it shameful?
    • 🎄Are you flying solo for Xmas?   🎄Let’s be honest-it can be weird. But maybe it’s also a chance to just …chill.   🎄How are you planning to treat yourself and make the day feel good?   🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅All ideas welcome.    ✌️Drop yours below. 🎄🎄🎄
    • Until the licencing laws changed in the late eighties, pubs were only allowed to open Sunday hours on Christmas Day, so 12 'til 2, and the majority didn't open in the evening unless it was for a 'private party'. But that's another story. The landlord of my old local used to let everyone double or treble up at last orders so that you could avoid having to watch the Queen's Speech with your Nans at three o'clock. Dulwich Tandoori is open Christmas Day for those who don't fancy Gail's.  'Festive Flavours', apparently.
