There is the eggman who can be found frequenting any of Bellenden's cafes daily. He wears a cowboy hat and walks with a stick but I believe he supplies a lot of eggs to local people. He appears to be quite friendly. I also know someone near me keeps chickens as I hear them all the time, but can't work out who it is.

We looked into the whole Omlet thing, and even went as far as ordering an egglu, but you have to drive outside the M25 somewhere to collect and choose the birds - and I was not sure how I felt about having them in my car. Why can't they deliver them like Ocado?

And then my father in law started to get very animated about how upset the children would be if the birds had to be put down if bird flu broke out, as they stopped eating lamb because they realised it is actually a lamb, and now they would realise that chicken is ...er chicken...and now, thank God it is all forgotten about. Apparently there is lots of smelly bird muck associated with keeping chucks, and the au pair refused to have anything to do with them - and with these nails... well I am just glad it is all forgotten about!

I think I may be drunk...

A friend in Streatham has 2 chickens she got from Omlet and from what she said one of the guys from the company came and set up her egloo for her - the run has a wide fringe on it which is dug under the grass to keep the hen's safe and she makes sure she shuts them in the hen house at night after they've settled in there. Have had eggs from her and their scummy!

    • Initially, when all the discussion took place at Bradbury some of existing building was to be demolished which meant that 3 flats would go but these residents would have to wait until new building erected to be housed. No indication has been given as to where people would be placed during building. I am glad that the tree is to remain - Bradbury residents contacted various environmental groups to lobby for tree to remain. I gather that there is likely to be a question of restricted views to be made by Wood Vale residents as 5 stories is significantly higher than current building.
