Only time I've ever been there they had one red wine in stock (the most expensive) and took forever to bring out boring food even though the place was empty. I respect them for giving it a go. Opening a restaurant is hard enough, but if you dont put your whole life in it never works out.

Never went back.

My experience was quite different. We went there several times and very much enjoyed it every time. They always seemed to have some nice specials on and there were a few Sardinian specialities on the menu which were a bit different to the norm - we have tried lots of different dishes there. Also I found them very friendly, not highly polished in the service department, I agree, but friendly and nice with children.

I think it's very hard to make a go of a restaurant in that space. It might work better as a cafe - though we have quite a few of them already.

Completely agree. Heard from another shop on LL that they indeed are closed due to having trouble with rent. A shame. The food was great, and we will miss it.

Oh that's a real shame ,:(

At the beginning it was slightly all over the place but then to our happiness the menu altered and they had the specials and the food was excellent from there after and we used it a lot ! Very sad to see this one go .

Si mangia is really lovely aswell

Went there just the once. My partner found a long hair in his pasta and complained. We were very impressed when the chef personally came out to apologise, only instead of apologising she said that 'unfortunately in hot, sweaty, busy kitchens, these things happened'. We never went back.
This hair thing...what's so bad about it? Never got the uproar with a hair in my nose bag. One single hair, take it out, keep calm and carry on. Never been sick after. Genuinely don't get it. Then again, I did and probably still do eat a bit of food I've dropped on the ground. Robust guts I guess.

I always thought the food was good and the garden was GREAT but the interior really let the side down. Even just dimming the lights would have made it more inviting - there's nothing less atmospheric than an over-lit restaurant in the evening! A real shame though - it was nice having an independent, family-run option. Thank god we've still got Il Mirto...

    • Fair points, not arguing with you on them.  What people forget is that immigrants or low skilled workers do the jobs the home population don't want to do and without those jobs being done, things very quickly grind to a halt, i.e. hospital cleaners, all very necessary, but I'd have thought the majority are on minimum wage. And Minimum Wage (35hrs/wk) isn't exactly what I'd call minimum. Just over £21K, easily double and a bit more than what I get in monthly pension income to live off.
    • Well he couldn’t deliver anything better than a poor brexit. Because no such thing exists
    • Fair points jazzer. But it begs the question, on what information are people basing their opinion? because if it’s x or the right wing media the of course they will believe nothing has happened but people who claim to be motivated by rising immigration numbers are either ignorant of or don’t care the those numbers have dropped significantly since Labour got in Hospital waiting lists are finally showing improvements after years of getting worse people on minimum wage are better off We haven’t had a random general election or new prime minister just months after the last one  compare that to Tory chaos Important relations with other countries (important for long term trade and growth) have improved under labour given the size of the mess they inherited it’s far better than many give credit for  and the prospect of a Badenoch and/or farage govt returning us to the chaos of last 10 years? No thanks (I could do a long list of things Labour have done wrong or badly but that’s for another thread. I did not vote for Labour, but all things considered they are a massive improvement on what came before. Unfortunately we have a bunch of far right agitators kicking off around the country because they are cry babies which gives impression country is going downhill  when it’s really not)
