Quite right MrBen. I wish The Lordship every success...

I have no idea who speedbird is, and I'm not aware that we "have form elsewhere", unless speedbird also posts/has posted under other names.

I completely agree that this thread (or indeed any others) isn't an appropriate place to make personal comments about other posters, but if somebody makes one about me you can't expect me not to respond, surely?

Hey ho. Plus ca change.

Went last night with some mates for food. Nice nice friendly feel and was full come 8.30pm at bar and tables at the back. Good straight up pub food and service beer at reasonable prices and they've taken away the bar stools....a small but tactical move for the better.

I like the choice.. Most of the time I stand.. The EDT has so many you can't get near the bar

and I end up moving them out of the way.

.. Sometimes when I have filled my legs with ale, I feel the need to sit down.

Foxy

And the degree of self awareness they have when others want access to the bit of the bar that they think they own...

We went early Saturday evening for some food and we were impressed. The food was delicious, good choice of options and prices seemed reasonable. Service was very, very good: helpful, friendly, personable, just as you'd like.

Overall, it wasn't too busy (although all the tables in the bar area were taken) but that was probably also because we left before 8pm (we had a little one with us).

Looking forward to the next visit!

A bit of a Jekyll and Hyde experience.

First visit - epic food and service, good value for the quality.

Second visit - ordered wine/food within 10 mins of arriving. Forty mins later, no food. After polite discussion with charming waitress, who couldn't get an answer from the kitchen, we spoke to manager. A shrugging of shoulders, a vague apology, but absolutely no indication of how much longer our food might be. We paid for our bottle of wine and left with it.

If we had been told there was an hour's wait for food at the beginning, we would never have sat down. I do hope complacency, matched with pressure for maximum bums on seats, isn't setting in. Otherwise they might end up going the same way as the four previous incarnations at this tricky spot.

Haven't eaten there and not really my choice of eatery with tables in the middle of the floor

and out of my price range...

.. but for those who choose to support a new local business it would seem not too much to ask

for a little more consistency. With people recommending the place and others being left disappointed

and frustrated.

They really should of been able to sort themselves out by now, or at the very least show a little more

concern about the level of service they seem to be providing.

Perhaps some complimentary drinks when customers are kept waiting.

With the suggestion that the place would make an excellent venue for a pre Cinema meal, that's not

such a good idea if you are going to miss the film due to being delayed.

Many of you have also asked, though, about how you can help ‘welcome’ Donald Trump to Windsor when he arrives there tomorrow (Tuesday) evening. So here’s the plan: We’re asking you to come and line Windsor High Street tomorrow in a peaceful, static protest.  Time: 6pm, Tue 16 Sept Location: Assemble outside Windsor Parish Church, High St, Windsor SL4 1LS and then spread out along the High Street. Grab some cardboard and a pen and make a homemade sign to show Donald Trump and his supporters what you think of them!  The world’s media will be in Windsor to cover the state visit, so showing visually that he is not welcome will send an important message far and wide. If you are coming then please join this Signal chat group for important updates.     Protest safety Please buddy up and come with someone else You have a right to peacefully demonstrate, but we are expecting a high police presence. Remain non-violent and non-confrontational, and do not talk to the police. It may be better to dress inconspicuously, not like an ‘activist’ We plan on ending at 7.30pm. Please leave in groups of 5–10 and make sure you have a bust card This action is entirely legal but we still recommend that you read this key advice when going on a protest to know your rights. Remember:  No comment No personal details Ask ‘under what power?’ No duty solicitor Don’t accept a caution Here is the protest support line: 07946 541 511 and here is more information on Stop & Search under the Public Order Act.   Thank you for being part of the movement against Trump. In solidarity, Stop Trump Coalition
    • We booked a day when we could drop around 8 bags. They directed us to use the rear entrance on Carver Rd. I would definitely ring as they don’t seem to have much space at the back. Our experience was great, they were very polite and thankful.
