I think the time has come for us to have a grown up adult discussion about the true meaning of this word. As I am banned from the general issues section and cannot respond publicly to some of the pretty nasty sneering aimed at me on a certain other thread, I would like to raise it here.

In defence of my PM to this 'robbin' person, I was trying to make the point that sneering DOES work both ways. You can't accuse me of being obnoxious on the one hand (based on previous posts) when the very comment I am refering to made by you is indeed obnoxious. Lots of pot kettle black stuff going on here today.

A lot of my humour is lost in translation, but the lack of humour in some posters whilst sneering is obvious for all to see most of the time (I do hope you are taking note admin). I'm sick to the back teeth of people misunderstanding me even after I've explained myself, then winding me up knowing full well I can't respond on the thread in question. It's sneaky underhand tactical stuff which exposes your apparent 'anti troll' rants for what they really are, TROLLING.

I think it is just that Louisa's humour and also my own humour does not come across in written form.

It is true what Louisa said 'A lot of her humour is lost in translation'

That would seem to apply to myself..

Face to face its is easier to get what people are getting at when you have eye contact.

The little glint in the eye, the wink, the nod.. :)

More subtle sneering. Get off your high horse. If you didn't want to respond and genuinely believed in the 'anti-troll' references you so spouted on the other thread, surely you'd not respond at all? Instead we have the 'not me honest gov' approach, where you reply by saying you won't be replying. If that isn't trolling I don't know what is.

I agree, why should Louisa have to put up with everyone's 'take' on her but she doesn't have a voice in that area. Wrong on every level...

The old Louisa is dead, I've promised myself and a few others to not steer back into previous conversational favourites of mine, and as yet have not done so. Then someone tries to push my buttons to get me to talk about a topic I have tried to leave behind me. So rather than rise to that, I am back with a completely different take on local issues. I refuse to be drawn on Iceland, class or parents with a buggy. From now on, I want to be taken seriously, any drinks events on the horizon? I refuse to be trolled back into previous topics.

MrBen as I explained to Jeremy, I really tried but couldn't do it. I tried to delete my profile and realised it wasn't possible, then I thought oh bugger it the forum is getting more and more dull as many faces disappear, may as well go down with the sinking ship.

So what would've been better? If she'd done a proper 'flounce' and not returned at all?

You say you don't mind having her around so why question a change of decision?

You should be celebrating instead. One less missing person.

Lou - when you do a massive rotten fart, sometimes it takes a while for the aroma to dissipate.

Try to think in terms of you having done one long, continuous, stinking guff - continually - for several years. You can't wave your hand a bit and away it goes. Can't be done. Its going to take some window opening and duvet wafting; possibly even a scented candle.

    • Hope all the ‘high streets for people’ events went well! Very short notice probably for people living in the area and on a very hot day!  James McAsh just doesn’t know what to do next with Southwark Council Tax payers money. He advocates the few streets in the area that has a bus service and then shuts the routes down! Very annoying for people who want to go about their daily business and have already had restrictions brought in by McAsh.
    • Thank goodness for Greg. I had an awful situation whereby I was notified that water was leaking from my flat into the flat below me. I was 150 miles away at the time and had a panicked journey home not knowing what I was going to face.   I called Greg (after seeing reviews on the forum) as soon as I arrived home in the evening and he arrived just after 10pm and was able to shut off the problem. He had to come back to finalise the job which turned out to be caused in a communal area whereby there was a blockage in the stack pipe.   Greg worked quickly, efficiently and informed me every step of the way as to what he was doing and why. He also cleaned up really well afterwards.  Greg's charges are very reasonable and he will definitely be my "go-to" if I have any other plumbing issues in the future.
