Ruffers, know what you mean. Weaseling is unethical, disrespectful and doesn't actually work any more as people got wise to it thanks to Tony B Liar's world of spin. Politicians should stop listening to any head of comms who tries to tell them the truth is a technicality.

The doors were always meant to be open as they were designed as a replacement for the old Routemasters which had conductors. No conductors = closed doors = no movement of air, given that the new ones have sealed windows and only feeble air-con.

At least because there are two stairwells, people do not congregate around the middle door (back door on conventional buses) which is my bete noire.

Please be reassured I'm not one of those people. I was merely mentioning that I'd be away and so wouldn't be able to attend one of their pointless and dull meetings.

And yes, the 'sleeps' thing enrages me too. Must cool down...

Sorry , first question is a favourite of mine.

Haven't asked the second one since I was about 10

Why is it obscene? According to what I've read its origins go back to Scottish English in the 1500's.

    • I give away a lot of cuttings but always short of the above, any ideas please?
    • Ash tree branch. Before speculating as to cause and whether it was deliberate or not, it’s worth remembering that there is ash dieback around. Also tree branches fall off without warning, especially if there’s internal rot or disease which is not outwardly apparent. And yes, there are regular checks done on the health of the trees in the Wood.
    • Dulwich folk well particularly ED folk have more money than certainly me - £4.00 for bread and butter? That is outrageous and I certainly would not pay £30 for an organic chicken - weird one is pate and runner beans combo. Don’t think butcher on Lordship Lane charges that but each to their own - live in Devon now and no way is an organic chicken that price!!
    • I was sitting on the park bench yesterday opposite north Dulwich station and found an Apple Watch hanging off the corner. I have brought it home and charged it hoping that someone might use ‘find my’ to locate it. Equally happy to be contacted this way to return it to the rightful lender / they just need to say what colour/kind of strap it has. If you can think of a better way to return it / find its owner then please advise. And/or feel free to share on other local fora.
