Pools of cat crap in the garden,

ones that you do not notice as you are busy watching where you point the hose over the newly planted pea plants,

and you turn off the hose,

walk in doors and the stinky filthy crap which you walk right through the house before you realise what you carelessly trod on, damn!

My Swedish friend tells me that there it is considered cruel to neuter/spay cats, so the female ones are given birth control pills in their food!

Don't know if it's a cultural thing or just her!

Is it just me, or is there something slightly incongruous about all these people loving their cats to pieces and almost to the point of anthropomorphism and posting frankly sinister pictures on here, but then chopping fairly vital bits out of them?

Frankly I'm with Frankie Boyle on pets (apart from dogs, who are quite clearly excellent).

What would you liked to have replied? I'm curious.

I'm incredibly crap at articulating myself so even now I have no answer. I would have liked to get across in a few witty words how inappropriate it was especially since he's a southwark employee and how I was really cheerful for a split second that he'd said morning. See I can't even articulate it on here because that sentence makes no sense! I wasn't offended or anything, especially as I am looking quite ordinary with jeans and a jacket, I'm sure he says it to anyone in a skirt (or jeans) it's just that I was so content with the 'morning' part.

edited to say actually if I could rewind I'd say "you smell niiice" so nothing like the above!

So...Southark wouldn't collect the fence panels because they had been engaging in a criminal activity??

p.s. - couldn't you have just explained to Southwark that the fence panels had now "gone straight" (or perhaps this would just have compounded the problem).

Sophiesofa, I think I might know what you mean - is it like when you meet a guy who's pleasant and friendly and you think - hey, I may have a new friend here, brilliant - and then he leches all over you and you realise Oh, you just liked my tits then, I thought you thought I was a nice person.

Mmm, yeah, it's hard to explain but it's just a bit disappointing when a conversation you thought was on the level turns out to have an agenda.

Probably just crossed wires and not anyone's fault.

Disclaimer, in case anyone thinks I'm really up myself: hasn't happened very often or for a very long time! :)

Yesterday I was in a meeting and there was a man with incredibly tight jeans on and my colleague (different one) commented on how he'd noticed me staring. :-$ It made me feel sick but I was mesmerized.

    • My daughter, a single parent, has been let down by her children's' father, who was supposed to have them for part of the school holidays, So we are helping out. Our grand daughter aged 11 is no problem, but 9year old is more difficult to please. Has an interest in computers and coding, does not like crowds (neurodiverse)  Is keen n how things work and enjoys taking things apart. He is already going to the transport museum and has been to the science museum  Husband and I have some mobility problems so nothing too strenuous. have done Horniman's a number of times.  Is there any local holiday schemes where we can enrol him in for 2/3 days. There seems to be a number relating to singing/dancing and drama but nothing science/maths based. He does not have an interest in sport at the moment. Grand children live in Sussex and will be attending Holiday Clubs for a couple of weeks
    • When I had a dead fox in my garden the council told me to put it in my wheelie bin, the green one.  I warned the dust bin men when they came that it was in there. They said they get worse than foxes put it!  Dead bodies!?  In the heat it might be better to bag it up first. Pam
