Just an observation from my daily vantage point on the lane.

I have witnessed more people with gammy/dodgy legs in East Dulwich than anywhere else I've ever lived. Is there a specialist leg hospital around here somewhere?

There are almost as many dodgy legs as bugaboos.

Are you sure they're all 'raspberries' and not affecting a kind of pimp-rolling 'cool walk?

It's sometimes hard to tell the difference.

I remember very clearly Bill Cosby recounting how his friend Albert got his cool walk off a wino with bad feet.

So you never know.

Feet. I notice feet. It's coming up to sandal time so, please, I beg you, before inflicting your feet on the world, get a pedicure. There's not a lot you can do if you have bad legs but there's a lot you can do with caloused feet and ugly hard skin. Yes I know I'm shallow but still. Would you believe there are still men out there wearing socks with sandals?

...but I need to wear socks to cover up my hairy toes.... I don't want to hear strangers call out 'oi, hobbit-features' any more, it's most distressing.

I had my ankle removed as a child and have a permanent limp as a result

I think you lot are being really really horrid and bullying people like me who can't help the way they walk

next you will be resurrecting the taunting and name calling that I received in my teens

You lot can all go and take a running hop

    • I would love something like this..I remember the one where Gails is now..It had some bric a brac furniture and 2nd hand clothes, I don't remeber the Oyster bar. The issue with the one on Zenoria St-And I speak as a long time habitué of Portobello, Kensington Market, Alfies,Spitalfields,Covent Garden (back when it had a decent vintage market on Mondays in the 80's and Early 90's) ..Was that a lot of the stuff they sold looked a bit meh..like a bad car boot fair. I also remember when we first moved here a small indoor market on the corner of North X road and Felbrigg rd that had bric a brac and bits of furniture..That one had some good stuff. I think the secret is in having a good mix of stalls selling well curated pieces at decent prices...It would also be good to have a few tables and rails available to rent for one-off sellers (car boot style) by application. When I lived in Notting Hill I used to do Portobello under the flyover a couple of times a year and made really decent money because people tended to go there on sundays for the Casual stallholders rather the same dealers selling the same stuff.
