I have just read an article that mentioned both Coldharbour lane in Brixton and Barry Road in ED as the two most fearsome areas within the Dulwich peninsula, the Vogue article goes on to mention that residents of nearby Peckham are becoming increasingly concerned that this late night drinking and general 'brits' abroad attitude of those that frequent the 'lane' area may creep it's way into the more gentile and arts based communities of Se15. The article goes onto to mention a dinner with Frank Malony and Anthony Gormley where the idea of some kind of statue for the ED area was mooted, the hope being that the statue would kick start some sense of regeneration and bring a much needed 'cool' factor to the area. The well known Fashion dame Z Rhodes said something needed to be done before ED became over run with Clapham Charlie's and the associated dealers that lurk nearby. Further down the article they go onto to discuss the news that during a targeted operation in the 'lane' local police arrested one dealer who was offering cut price class A with a jelly vodka shot thrown in.

Quite shocking reading actually. Lets hope the residents of SE15 offer some help and support and do not just avoid tesco's for fear of bumping into their SE22 neighbors.

Stop that AFN, who cares about what the postal-code confused bint was wittering about. It's not about location.

What shoes was she wearing? Jeans? Was she wearing them? If so were they skinny? OH MY GOD, was she in a twin set and skirt?

HOLY CHRIST. Was it a bloke? Did he have winkle-pickers on? Were they white?

Come on AFN, the proper facts if you please. Don't make me go and buy Vogue.

I know AFN, I've been drinking heavily for several hours myself.

It's why them bastards call it GOOD Friday, right?

Cheers.

    • Pity you didn't quote what you are referring to, Mal. I didn't see the previous post, and my mind is boggling 😮
    • The Cherry Tree was absolutely excellent for a while when a youngish couple ran it and brought in a really good chef. It was them who renamed it The Cherry Tree. They were really turning it around. The chef did fantastic Scotch eggs, and one of the best roasts I've ever had. If memory serves the then owner,  for some reason known only to himself, took a dislike to them and what they were doing and sacked them all. And yes we weren't expecting a top class  meal last Christmas, and we left it too late to book anywhere else, but we weren't expecting it for a hundred pounds EACH to be quite as terrible as it was. Stupid us. Not sure why you are confused by my post, Jazzer? Did I misremember? Now it's got even more confusing because my posts have been merged and your confused emoji is shown at the bottom of the second one instead of the first 🤣
    • Hear hear. Very well said. Thank you and all the best for the year ahead
    • Tried months ago, to get folk together to do something, to say thank you. Been a member of the forum for years and if you had not stepped up, would not be an active  forum. Well administered as well. So from me to you, thanks for keeping it going..  Happy Christmas and blessings and good fortune in 2026 which I am told is The Year of The Horse….
