Indiana
I would like to buy a collection of 'learn to read' type books for my daughter to have at home. She is 5 1/2 and in Reception so she has one or two books a week from school which we read and make notes in her reading log.I thought it would be a good idea to have a series of books at home which help her to read and may be a bit more interesting for her (!). I am sure I saw something recommnended on the forum to get their child more engaged in reading but I can't find it.Any recommendations welcome! Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/60128-can-you-recommend-reading-books-for-a-5-year-old/ Share on other sites
Monkey
Julia Donaldson's Songbirds. They stop at level 6 though. Perfect for reception. If your daughter is already over level 6, I find that the biff, chip and kipper at level 6 + can be good. The earlier ones are boring! My daughter also loves the Cat in the Hat reading books ( if I ran the horse show etc...) edd
Rather than buying new off amazon, why not have a look in the family classifieds?... (apologies if your amazon purchases were seconds!)
