Mick Mac
I was in Hope and Greenwood yesterday afternoon:An attractive girl, perhaps in her late 20s came in with a girlfriend and spotted a bar of "*******" chocolate.I personally have never even heard of "*******" chocolate, I can't even remember its name, but they seem very impressed with it. it was most likely very expensive.Girls says to friend - "oh look they have "*******" chocolate!".Girlfriend says "whaooo!"Girl 1 starts stroking the bar of chocolate. She looked like she really wanted this chocolate, real bad. She then dragged herself away from the chocolate and bought a more modest purchase, a small bag of dolly mixtures. On the way out she stopped to stroke the bar of chocolate again, before leaving. What is it with girls and chocolate? citizenED
I hope she didn't start to "flake" it. There were probably minors around. Annasfield
I don't get chocolate either. Don't get me wrong, it's okay but only if it's been in the fridge and then only a bit. These people that can eat a whole one of those huge bars are just wrong. Crisps everytime. dulwichmum
I should imagine that the girls were stroking bars of Fry's Chocolate Cream. OHMYGOD.I buy a bar at H & G each Saturday morning. It never disappoints. citizenED
Annasfield, I get the gist of your post, even though I like chocolate and eat my fair share (Twirl anyone?) I don't quite go into the raptures that some do.Then you spoil it by mentioning crisps. Crisps rather than chocolate? Have you gone cocoa? Brendan
On Sunday I opened the fridge and it was full of leftover pizza and cold beer. My legs went all wobbly and I shed a single tear of joy. I think it?s something similar. Mick Mac
Men put up the shelves that you girls put the chocolate on. Once the shelves are up you probably don't need us anymore. Keef
Citizen, I'm with you on Twirls!I had a friend in my old job, and she genuinely had a thing for chocolate. She was going through some really horrible stuff in her life, and where I probably would've turned to drink, she turne to chocolate, and it genuinely seemed to make her feel better. weird! candj
Let's hope the chocolate was wrapped before being stroked.Agree with Annasfield, give me a pack of crisps any day, or a sausage for that matter. Will only occasionally have chocolate and certainly not the whole bar. You will NEVER understand.Probably not. I admit it, I don't understand it. I watched Nigella last night and it confirmed my suspicions that there is some sort of drug/chemical reaction that you girls get from cocoa that just does not work for men. There is something of the unknown about it. Nigella's friend comes round - very upset - unknown man has no doubt mistreated her - Nigella plops lots of homemade chocolatty things in front of her - all is well - everyone is happy again - bad man is forgotton. Annasfield
Would much rather have a fella/beer/crisps/sausage than a bar of chocolate. Perhaps not all at the same time, but there are some good combinations in there I'm sure. ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6051-girl-strokes-chocolate-in-hope-and-greenwood/#findComment-194127 Share on other sites
Cassius
Don't like chocolate except maybe a tiny bit of dark chocolate that has been in the fridge. Don't like crips either - in fact don't like snacks or sweet things at all - but put a pint of ale, or a glass of wine in front of me.............
