Sundial
Funnily enough I was in a pub in crystal palace last week, got talking to a bar maid and the cherry tree came up, apparently the wife of the owner was very good to her when she needed help. monica
Hi SueWhen i got married in 1998, we rented rooms above the old wishing well, for my inlaws. The rooms were affordable and were very nice. My inlaws, were not fussy, being from Belfast, you would not be. :)But they loved the place, and the owners back then, the McCanns, laid on a great pre and post wedding party for us. Now thats what I call a good pub.And the ales were great :)Sue Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> stevie23b Wrote:> --------------------------------------------------> -----> > hope its not another victoria the old wishing> > well went from a not bad local with affordable> > digs do we really need another clone> > > Whatever you may think of the Victoria, The> Wishing Well never had any ale on latterly - the> original pub with no beer, in fact - and so far as> I know it never rented out rooms, affordable or> not?> > Despite the lack of ale I was quite fond of The> Wishing Well, and maybe I have led a sheltered> life, but it was the only place round here when I> have been scared to come out of the loo because of> what was going on outside it :(> > It did once have a good Kraftwerk Tribute Night> though :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/62257-padlocks-on-the-cherry-tree-pub/page/5/#findComment-864991 Share on other sites
Jah Lush
I really liked the old Wishing Well much much more than the New Victoria Inn... not my cup of tea at all, so I never go there now.
