Any chance of the sorbet recipe RosieH? Sounds fab! D'you need an ice-cream maker?

A window seat on the upper deck of a bus. Especially on the left-hand side.

Except if it's the front seat, then right-hand window applies.

It almost makes up for the c@ntbollockses shouting on their portable phones.

Most nearly.

This is the one I use. You don't need an ice cream maker - just take it out of the freezer every so often and break up the ice crystals - however I've just bought a machine and made it in that for the first time. Soooooooo easy (but doesn't taste any better, so go for it)

Oh well done ruffers! I hope you like it.

Big "good luck" hug to you. x

Waking up early on a day when you're not working and taking a few seconds to realise that you have liberty, then making strong tea in your enamel mug, going back to bed and dipping into that book of Evelyn Waugh's letters that you haven't got round to reading.

Or old copies of Viz, that works too.

rush rush rushing to catch the last few hours of a work related design exhibition which you felt you HAD TO go to

and suddenly realising... it's way too hot and you could

Wow a double rainbow - how wonderful!

I have joy, but it's not really irrational. I resigned yesterday from a job I've been moaning about for 2 years 8 months and 3 days. YAY

Anyone else experience joy recently?

Despite being dog-tired and not quite with-it in general, I spent a very pleasant Wednesday evening in North London with some good people, watching some bands, spotting some vivid rainbows and thinking ?I love living in London ? and I don?t even mind the 63 home on a cold August night?

    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
