Well, for a woman of 58!! years of age - she is fantastic (cool older rock chick).

She is on Jools on BBC2 now if you want to check her out...

I'm wondering what she might have in common with Lilly Allen and I have decided I like the mid length dark hair with straight across fringe. Slightly over her eyes in Chrissie's case, she looks through her fringe.

what 50+ does it for you?

I used to get freebies into BBC Shows 20 years ago and once, when backstage, I got lost and bumped into..Esther who looked a fetching shade of Yellow in her face...so after that anything is an improvement and my Ladyfriend feels that she has had a facelift...:)

"Farcically" 55 Mick....apart from the odd bout of weariness I don't feel any different to being 30 ( I rarely drink and have never smoked anything) and certainly I act the same age as most of my Ladyfriends who are nearly all, exactly, 30 lol...though having to watch "Chipmunk" and "Rhianna" and "Ciara" can lose its novelty, especially as I'm a Floyd/Zeppelin/Wishbone Ash Man...B)

Just Heineken Quids. But I don't have the highest standards when sober, so its not a big step. Always liked Chrisie though. Never liked Lilly Allen at all until I came home after a few beers at EDT blues night Sunday night but having started a thread saying she was nice I thought I could not back down. Was amazed at how many posts the thread got though.

SimonM's taste is impeccable

Can I be a heretic and say that Chrissie Hynde has always irritated me? Like her fans I appreciate the strong personality, rock chic thing etc but then she goes and spoils it by making pedestrian music (it is!) and generally being over aggressive in interviews. I know that received wisdom is she is A Good Thing but meh

    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
    • Adapted not forced.  As have numerous species around the world.  Sort of thing that Attenborough features.  Domestic dogs another good example - hung around communities for food and then we become the leader of the pack.  Not sure how long it will take foxes to domesticate, but some will be well on their way.    Raccoons also on the way https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1j8j48e5z2o
