lorraineliyanage
Can anyone recommend a restaurant that?s slightly less stodgy and greasy than the usual Chinese/pub grub/Indian etc? Thanks! karter
A healthy veggie restaurant would be good, near to smbs would be even better.! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/659-healthy-eating-in-ed/#findComment-15670 Share on other sites

Jeremy
Can't think of anything particularly healthy as such... but the Turkish place would do you some grilled meat or fish, with rice and salad. Keef
Ganapati on Bellenden Rd is fab, and not like your normal Indian. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/659-healthy-eating-in-ed/#findComment-15691 Share on other sites
lorraineliyanage
Ah I've heard good things about Ganapati - I may check that one out. Is it reasonably priced? Thanks! Michael Palaeologus
You could always walk to and from the Kebab shop - thus making it a healthier option Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/659-healthy-eating-in-ed/#findComment-15708 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
karterSo Hisar is due to change is it? Not sure that's a good thing. After struggling in various incarnations it has really seemed to take off in the last year or two and I have never had a bad night there. There is room for improvement but I hope they don't throw the baby out with the bathwater Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/659-healthy-eating-in-ed/#findComment-15714 Share on other sites

Ted Max
Lorraine if you can get to Ganapati at lunchtime they have a cheap menu (something like 5-6 quid for a main course with rice/ pickles inc) which will give you a good taster of what they are all about. Jeremy
Karter - if Hisar is evolving for the better, then I am happy! Went in there on a Wednesday the other week, and it was very busy. Food was very reasonably priced and tasty, service was very friendly. It's a real winner if you just want something simple and don't want to spend Franklins/Palmerston money! karter
Jeremy, good lord no. They are doing away with the kebab shop (its part of the same building if you didnt know that) and will have a cocktail area and also restaurant area. No more rowdy 5 am kebabheads shouting down the road. They will close at a respectful time . James
Yes please! Mildreds is fantastic. Do you remember a place called Heathers in Deptford? Amazing veggie place with its own kitchen garden, sadly shut down a few years ago. It would be so nice to have something like that locally.
