bigbadwolf
I believe that Il mirto is the local branch of the Cosa Nostra gabriele but I'm afraid that Betfred have the race fixing scene cornered. I'm from the Omerta region by the way. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6627-italians-in-east-dulwich/#findComment-212564 Share on other sites

HonaloochieB
Hello and welcome Gabriele, I'm not Italian, I'm Irish. Close enough though.Matriarchily dominated, bossed by The Pope and a carbohydrate based diet. Alike as two peas. In different pods.Apart from the piss artist thing we're so alike.Sorry Gabriele I ramble, welcome once again, stick around. citizenED
So we've had the French influx and now seemingly the Italian one; a new restaurant on Melbourne, the new cafe/deli opposite the Plough, Viva Europa, and pissoire off UKIP.So welcome to the Forum, Gabriele. AllforNun
The new cafe on the Rye stand's on the site were the Italian POW's were interned during the War, I think the green shed that houses the kids club was in fact part of the original camp. bigbadwolf
I'm afraid not 'Luisa'. We have another forumite who signs off in the same way you did/do. You may have come across her before in that she's just like an old Alfa Romeo. You get plenty of mileage but double the heartache. AllforNun
"However,I think she is looking for "living" Italians ......this time round. "warf !Not sure any of them died in there, the brits were not quite that bad ! although they were probably safer in there than out in ED, the cappucino in ED is so bad that it's enough to kill. God knows what it would have been like in the 40's, and people then were not as 'educated' as the foodies of ED ! Who else is there that signs off lavishing praise on Il Mirto?!I think you may have been on this forum for far too long and become very suspicious and jaded. You obviously don't understand how exciting it is for an Italian to have a Italian restaurant like Il Mirto move in 5 minutes away. Good Italian food and bring your own booze is heaven for me. I'm quite enjoying being accused as a fraud - if I could be bothered and wanted to, is there anyway that i could prove that I'm not? bigbadwolf
I think you (and me) seem to have got the wrong end of the stick. The 'Luisa' I'm talking about (Louisa) doesn't sign off with praise for Il Mirto but stamps her name at the bottom of her rant. Much like you did in the post that attracted my attention and led me to suspect that our little firebrand was trying to pass herself off as a continental johnny foreigner. Ciao for now.
