There was a lovely stall at the fair yesterday selling ED cloth bags, then i started chatting to a resident who told me that dulwich not ED and nunhead already have cloth bags, with dulwich and nunhead logos that were distribuited by their local community using southwark money.I spoke to and emailed the council today about ED cloth bags and they said they would let me know,if any of you guys have time can you email southwark through their website, recycling page and ask about ED bags and to go about getting them.Im thinking about petitioning our local community council at their next meeting, anyone want to help, let me and il give you the details, two lovely ladies who baked for the WI on sunday expressed interest,so if you want to help get this up,let me know here.

Did anyone else see the 'Loser' magazine flyer posted on the front of the 'I (heart) SE22' bags stall, and indeed flyered all the way up LL? I thought it was having a pop at the 'I'm not a plastic bag' fiasco of late. I saw one woman in SMB's with an I'm not a plastic bag' thing, and she looked bemused as to why people were laughing at her. Fashion gone mad?

There's a post about the bags HERE and asked people to come along and help make the place greener...

I take my hat off to you for the thought, but again, it seems like anyone trying to take responsibility for the environment, and doing their bit, is just ripped off for their trouble!

God, since being with Mrs Keef I'm very surprised at the things I'm becoming passionate about..... That could actually sound very wrong! :-S

Oh dear it seems like I am the only one to mention or at least acknowledge these 'Loser' flyers?.....I have no idea who put them up. I thought it a little odd is all. Oh well. Curious situations often never get explained. Mr Madworld 74 came over to me at the festival to inform me of how much they were on sale for. Just as well the loud music from the band drowned his 'dismay'...is all I can say.

I think this is a very good idea. I keep reading about that small town that has gone plastic bag free. I can see no reason why lordship lane could not do the same thing and I suspect it could be funded from the community council's cleaner greener safer fund. An application form can be found here:

No and they're not cloth. They're made out of harder stuff, sorry I don't know what it's called - like a cross between sea grass or raffia. Nor can I remember exactly what it says but it's got a pic of a green tree and the word Dulwich is in it but not I 'heart' SE22. Must be one of the bags Monica talked about in the first post.

Sorry for rubbish info, I'm too hungry to think.

Anyway pop along to RW and see for yourselves.

Thanks councillor i will do that and hopefully things may roll. The whole idea about Ed cloth bags came from here. The postcards are proving to be very popular i

see.Lots of people walking around with them On LL.I heard a couple of ladies say they were going to post them to the states.Nice 1

    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
    • Dawson Heights again  2 lifts out of order at ladlands block Christmas Eve so of course the 🛗 will not be repaired tomorrow Christmas Day or Boxing Day or when how do elderly or mothers with children and prams and food and presents get to the floors and with the 10 minutes you get to drop off  to park and not get a Pcn fine and delivery food to relatives who can’t leave their house unbelievable Southern housing does any know email address of Coe of southern housing
    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
    • Sorry Sue - me again. This has been on my mind all day, it's a big bug bear of mine. If you don't mind - please can you private message me some of these shops so I can cross reference / add to my AVOID list.  Thanks in advance. Let's make sure this doesn't happen this Christmas, particularly as we head into sales season. Even more problematic in my experience.
