I have lots: ?50 total spread across:

Clarke, McGrane, Hamilton, Westwood, McIlroy, Zach Johnson, Villegas and Kaymar - mostly long shots - its a scatter gun approach to having someone in the running come the weekend.

Any sucess I have ever had in golf betting has been betting at the half way stage, so I'll look again then at shorter odds chances.

Woods is deserved favourite but odds too short for his post operation form. Goosen a good bet but has not been the same player he was some years ago, but last weekend offered some hope.

You'd need to check his Open record - Don't recall him challenging before though. But all major winners have to be respected and he played ok last week. Its really best to wait till halfway though to be honest to see who gets off to a reasonable start. You still get good odds on the chasing pack at halfway stage.

Oh and Furyk too, just remembered him :)

Not sure, Mick's strategy of waiting until the first two rounds are over might be advisable if the weather's going to blow, but then again if you want value...got a feeling an outsider or 'local hero' might take it, bit like Paul Laurie(?) at Carnoustie...Goosen EW to start off with though methinks...

    • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
