Barty, you can expect to be amused, engaged, annoyed, frustrated, titillated, buy some stuff, sell some stuff, find a handyman, find a soul mate, meet some people for drinks, curry, runs, over a book club or a book swap, locate that elusive "thing", service, record, song name, song lyric, piece of poetry by seeking an answer from the collective wisdom of the forum.

Political views range from well to the right of centre to well to the left of centre - the normal distribution is a little skewed to the left - don't try to defend Thatcherism! You must have an opinion on buggies (passionately for or passionately against - no middle ground allowed). Other passionate subjects:

W Rose - either a rip off for snobs or a fantastic butcher.

Chandelier - ditto

Luca's - ditto

East Dulwich Deli - ditto

Crime - it's either all their parents fault and both yoof and parents should be locked up or hung, or it's all society's fault and we should hug a hoodie today.

Ahhhh, now we're talking.

First some spilling of beans....I am not from East Dulwich.......before the collective huffing and turning up of noses, I lived in Forest Hill and now in Sydenham, so I'm not a total stranger to the locality, it's not like I live in Edinburgh or something.

What you can expect from me is a little sarcasm, a little information, a passionate defence of QPR FC and the nation's railway system, an opinion on a range of wildly different subjects, a liberal sprinking of typo's (there being a vast difference between typing errors and spelling errors), and a fairly good game of chess if anyone wants to take me up on that!

I can't get into politics until we have a political system that accurately reflects the number of people who vote for each party - how can the party in power have 55% of the seats on 35% of the vote?

Buggies.....jury's out on that one.

Cyclists.....tax em or shoot em.

Bart, the natives on EDF are generally friendly, and the moderation is light touch.

I'm a member of other forums where the complete lack of moderation has almost led to forum self destruction as a few individuals attempted to conduct virtual WW3 and many others left in despair.

Right you lot, I essentially invited Barty to this neck of the woods so stand aside whilst I make all the introductions.

Seanmacgabhan is the all round good guy but sometimes bites.

Mockney piers is the forums prince among men.

Brendan is our eccentric Saffa.

Keef is our musician and pot head.

Jah Lush has had a tab at just about every pub in south London past and present. He likes a drop.

    • Hallo As far as I know  info you have quoted is wrong.  You can phone for an appointment although I have always found it easier to do online. Go to their website for info on how to book appointments Any requests I have made have been reviewed and answered by a GP within 4 hours
    • Nadia did a great job tidying up my very very overgrown yard. (See the before and after photos). I live in New Zealand and my tenants said a neighbour has been complaining about the out of control ivy. Nadia was easy to contact so over WhatsApp, managed to liaise between me and my tenants. Her quote was reasonable for the amount of work that needed doing, and the end result is great! She sent photos throughout so I could track progress. Would highly recommend her to others.
    • My car was stolen a few months back from my driveway but I had a tracker and found it in a private car park in Lavender Hill close to the police station. I was lucky. The thieves hide it up against that eventuality. High spec cars are targeted I'm afraid. The way it was stolen required the thieves to wire in their own computer accessing a front light (which had had a metal sheet welded across which they prised off). They had searched for a tracker but not found it. They also had to cut away a steering wheel lock. They had to come well tooled up and briefed to do what they did. Beating them off is non trivial. As I said, them not finding my tracker was just lucky.
    • Been with The Gardens now for around 30 years and very rarely do I have a problem. I went in to collect a form and mentioned that my leg was hurting and hot- was seen immediately by the Practice nurse who then arranged an appointment on the Saturday with the Extra care service at TJ Centre where I saw a doctor, who then sent me off to Kings for further tests.. I recently booked a flu jab but appointment is in 2 weeks.
