Maurice
Well it's all very confusing, isn't it? Sign up, down, private sale, change agents, etc. I do not know the gentleman, though I did know the family who lived there for many years and sold on long ago. *Bob*
The owners would do well to bear in mind it's in Camberwell (five minutes walk from the Silver Buckle) - and drop the price accordingly. Maurice
I'm afraid pubs are not my cup of tea, so to speak. It is difficult for me to get out at all and when I do, it is not to pubs. I can offer you an afternoon drink in the front drawing room or, given our lovely weather, the garden. It is much quieter and better quality than anything local. There is the Doves, which I've never visited but seems to get a lot of positive press. The young man behind it is constantly raising his and his pub's profile. Maurice
Alan I do worry about you dear boy. Since the housing slump, your attitude toward wealth seems to have changed drastically.Have you suffered a job loss? Is all okay over on the estate? I do worry. Maurice
Bob I fear you are right. And the boom boom cars to boot. My summer garden parties were once the talk of the Society calendar. The Camberwell Society that is. I cannot recall anyone not leaving, but my mind isn't what it once was, so you could be right. I just thought most of us were now house bound or dead. Maurice
Isn't it hilarious when grown men make boyish gay jokes? How delightful to have intelligent humour. Do continue. *Bob*
I'm not joking, Maurice. Pop down the Walworth Road and see for yourself. Alan does Tuesday - Saturday. *Bob*
You're right. There's nothing that anyone, gay or straight, would find in the slightest bit amusing about Rimworld.Back to the grown-up debate. I didn't know you had ginger hair, Alan? Maurice
At least you are taken care of Alan, so not to worry. All the best in getting back into employment. I must admit I did chuckle on seeing Rim World. I didn't want to mind, but it just happened. I avoid Walworth route at all costs. *Bob*
I'm glad you're honest, Maurice. Maurice
Let us all agree to be kind to our Alan. He's facing unemployment, crying newborns and cramped quarters. And now no Silver Buckle for the odd escape.I feel genuine compassion. *Bob*
United in poor taste then - good stuff. Rest assured, if there had been a more entertainingly-named shop in Camberwell selling sporting and fashion goods (say, "Fellatio World", or perhaps "Beanflicker City" etc) then I would have gone for that. Alas, Rimworld is the best there is - by a country mile.
