Jeremy
Watched some of the Specials set in the Hermits Cave earlier... looked good.red devil Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> The Specials were brilliant, shame they can't kiss> and make up with Jerry Dammers.JD has probably just been more careful with his money than the rest of them. But who really cares about the keyboard player anyway? MrBen
Bit of a "moment" right at the end of Neil Young I thought... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6808-glastonbury-at-home-thread/#findComment-218053 Share on other sites
red devil
Dammers was the driving force behind The Specials, writing most of the songs and was also involved in the production side. I just thought it was a shame they couldn't sort out their differences (was it over money?) - life's too short etc.Annywaay, does anyone know what's happened to their old trombone player Rico Rodriguez? The last time I saw him he was in the Jools Holland band... Jeremy
My keyboard comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek... the keyboard is one of my instruments, and I've always found it harder to get recognition playing keyboard in a bad compared to when I've been playing other instruments. I know Jerry was a pivotal member (maybe the main songwriter?)Rico was an unofficial member... I always thought of him more as an all-round ska and reggae legend who made the odd guest appearance with The Specials. Besides, he's an old man now.
