ok before you all shoot me down for posting tosh, I freely admit this post is probably unneccesary and irrelevant to most, but why pray tell have I just been awoken by a man who lives in this street walking down the middle of the road pulling a large suitcase? Tell me your story, man!!! I'm

a shameless curtain twitcher who needs to know!

He didn't look like a thief. Or a newly single man.

Actually, looked like he was calming wheeling his unwanted goods to a charity shop AT 2AM IN THE MORNING!!

Maybe he is an insomniac and we need to start a Horlicks appreciation club together....

Haven't read the entire monstrous suitcase prowler thread, but my instincts are he is an entirely different suitcase puller.

To add additional mystery to this exciting event, I think he may have returned home about an hour later SANS suitcase.

It's all going on in ED.

Oh stop it Keef and OTT, where's the tabloid-style hysteria in an airport trip?

What was he doing not being in a cab, if he was on the way to a supposed airport?

Walking down the middle of the road? In broad night time? Making himself, oh so heard?

Was he heading towards the estate on Denmark Hill? We all know there's something rotten there.

He appears to be a wrong 'un LEDF, on his return question him closely about the matter, weigh and analyse the evidence objectively and then get the EDF posse/vigilante/mob round to his gaffe to run him out of town on a rail.

It's the only language he'll understand.

Hmmmm... returns an hour later (3 a.m.) - why was it so important to wheel a suitcase down the road at 2 a.m. ? I think we can safely assume what ever was in the suitcase when he left was not in the case when he returned. For someone to carry out this operation at those hours it must have been very important which then beggers the question if it was so important why not transport the case by taxi.

Why do you think he may have returned SANS suitcase? Why the uncertainty?

A fair question - I feel he may have returned without it as I heard someone return to the house but without the tell tale sound of accompanied baggage that had previously awoken me. By the time I got up out of bed to curtain twitch, the door had closed.

An enigma wrapped up in mystery.

And then marinaded in a riddle. enveloped in superstition (that's superstition, not the ordinary stition) and placed in a microwave of mysticism.

For 6x6x6 minutes.

As far as I'm concerned that'll teach someone a lesson.

And they'll get taught up good and proper.

    • Reviving this to say that Palais is now up and running.  We went to a night there yesterday.  It is a first floor bar with cocktails and space for a DJ.  That I think is intended to be a quieter space for an older/more chilled crowd.  There is also a basement club space that can hold 500, it has an amazing sound system. The communal areas are still a bit rough and ready, they still need to do some replastering and painting on the stairways and there is currently no functioning lift.   But generally it was well run and thoughtfully restored. It was good to see the space back in use and it feels like a good addition  to that end of Peckham. Interestingly, showing a shift in night time cultures, there were signs about not using mobile phones and everyone had to get a blocking  sticker put on their phone camera lens before they were allowed in.
    • Great shout. They do need the extra fat when it’s winter, but don’t use fat balls from April as they are dangerous for nestlings as the babies can choke on lumps of the fat. When it gets milder switch to suet pellets as they are harder and don’t melt (the grease is bad for feathers.
