But did they actually take disciplinary action against the driver?

Or did they just tell you that.

I once had a minicab driver who took us to Gatwick on the way to our wedding. He was pretty rude so we didn't give him the tip he requested. This led to him shouting "F**k off you f**king c**ts. I hope you f**kin' well die in a plane crash" plus lots of other abuse. The cab office said they would take the strongest disciplinary action when I reported this

On gettingback from honeymoon and following up, they said they'd had a stern word with him and told him not to do it again.

Don't believe them. They don't bother. It's all lies.

Ask the bus company for a copy of his P45.

I have spoken at length to various people and made numerous complaints in writing about this particular driver but nothing ever happens. Just last week he shouted from his cab to an elderly lady who refused to pass her paper travelcard to him under the hatch "I am english remember unlike you". He is a disgusting individual and I have witnessed him bully and abuse passengers on a regular basis.

Today I spoke to a controller at East Thames Buses who tells me the driver is based at the Belvedere depot and his name is not Nigel. The attached photograph should help.

I don't know what else can be done about this man.

I am identifying the driver in question so that others can be made aware of the bully in question.

You have removed his photograph so I can only presume that you do not object to his disgraceful actions.

Think I ran into this guy when pregnant. REALLY obnoxious when I apparently didn't show the date on my travelcard well enough. Rather than dissolving in floods of hormonal tears however it just made me more feisty in return and held up the bus journey whilst he harrangued me and everyone stared - hopefully in pity! Feel sorry for the less hardy individuals he bullies.

Must be raising his blood pressure though! Will be thinking calm zen-like thoughts meself if I'm ever on his bus again otherwise I'm likely to brain him with my brolly!

So what do we do then, if we personally come across, maybe for the first time, a person we believe to be the person referred to in some or all of the (more or less anonymous) postings here?

I Made the name up in my original thread about Angry Nigel the bus driver man. It's a generic name to reference people; Like I flew with Fast Nigel the pilot last weekend and Crash Nigel the cab driver took me home.

I saw Angry Nigel a couple of months ago being friendly to a guy boarding with a dog. He seemed to like the dog.

Strange...

Isn't that entrapmeant. Maybe this post should find its way to the Police.

"Emergency services, which service do you require?"

"police"

"transferring you"

"Hello police, can I help you?"

"Quick, there's someone on the 185 with a Freedom Pass and they're threatening to use it against Nigel"

Oh, you'd be amazed what you find if you ever read your contract properly.

I was entitled to a gallon of rum from the people of Canterbury at every full moon on my last job. Never claimed any of it.

You should claim the backlog and throw a party.

My contract says i get paid on the 25th of every month and that's only happened 3 times in the last year and a half. It also says if i have any problems i can speak to the HR representative, which would be hard seeing as there isn't one. It doesn't mention that as a graphic designer I'm expected to do everyones washing up and take the rubbish out everyday along with lots of other crap. Sorry I went a bit off topic there I REALLY need to get a new job.

I think the post said alittle more than that.

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
    • Signed, and I will share it elsewhere, thank you for posting this. It's got nearly 70,000 signatures at present, and apparently runs till February.
