I think it helps if you're a bit of a sci-fi nerd to start with.

The Dax symbiont was hosted by two Trills: (Lieutenant Commander) Jadzia and (Ensign) Ezri (during the DS9 timeline - Dax had other, earlier hosts, as I'm sure you know.) Presumably, you liked one or other of the Trill hosts (let me guess - Terry Farrall?)

My favourite Trek-babe is ex-Borg Seven of Nine who joined Voyager's crew. She is hot!

Jesus f..king wept Hal get yout tongue out of her worm hole!

When you've finished fantasizing about Starfleet officers Hal see me in my ready room for a 'debrief'.

Really.

Tell me Hal, how do you like your worm holes...

Do you like them hairy and derelict like you'd probably find on a female Klingon warrior or do you prefer I nicely trimmed worm hole like you'd find on a Vulcan science officer of the fairer sex?

We wont judge you Hal...well...not to your face.

well if we're doing ?ber geek trekky fancying, then i'll skip the obvious geri ryan (cripes, mind) and have to go for jennifer lien (kes) who also played Ed Norton's sister in American History X (Simplistic, but powerful film) .

I actually abhor all Star Trek, it's so effing worthy and boring, but I'm a natural sci-fi geek, so have watched most of it whether i enjoyed it or no.

Oh sod it...Geriiiii

ps Bladerunner, one of the best films ever made, everyone at the peak of their powers, even Vangelis!!

Oh yes, the amazing Kes, the juvenile Okampa with a nine-year lifespan who developed an allergy to the glue used to attach her ears :)

Apparently written out of the show for rejecting the advances of a well-connected admirer. She was replaced by Jeri Ryan.

If you mean it was too long with hardly any dialogue and made little sense without reading the book then you are probably right. But as a dynamic synergy of music and visual imagery the movie has yet to be equalled let alone surpassed. It was way ahead of its time, IMO. And the STAR was me!!!

    • Kwik Fit buggered up an A/C leak diagnosis for me (saying there wasn't one, when there was) and sold a regas. The vehicle had to be taken to an A/C specialist for condensor replacement and a further regas. Not impressed.
    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
    • @Sephiroth you made some interesting points on the economy, on the Lammy thread. Thought it worth broadening the discussion. Reeves (irrespective of her financial competence) clearly was too downbeat on things when Labour came into power. But could there have been more honesty on the liklihood of taxes going up (which they have done, and will do in any case due to the freezing of personal allowances).  It may have been a silly commitment not to do this, but were you damned if you do and damned if you don't?
    • I'd quit this thread, let those who just want to slag Labour off have their own thread.  Your views on the economy are worth debating.  I'm just stunned how there wasn't this level of noise with the last government.  I could try to get some dirt on Badenoch but she is pointless  Whilst I am not a fan of the Daily Mirror at least there is some respite from Labour bashing. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/grenfell-hillsborough-families-make-powerful-36175862 https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/nigel-farage-facing-parliamentary-investigation-36188612
